If so, then He should have punished Hindus everywhere, not just the ones in India. This hasn't happened, and our samajas in India and Dharma-vadins elsewhere, and even many in India, are doing very well, indeed, thank you.

That is a mean thing to say. How can you be so glad that millions of Jews died as a result of the actions of one madman ? Does Christianity not teach you to love your fellow men as you love yourself ? You do not even follow your own religion's teachings very well, do you, sir ?

Shame on you for gloating over the deaths of millions of innocent people and then claiming that it was God's fault for not protecting them.

If you had bothered to read the Bible instead of that foreign gobbledy-gook, you would know the answers to your questions already. Instead it appears I have to dictate the entire thing to you.

I never said it was God's fault. It was His Divine Will, which is righteous and holy. Why do I rejoice in it? Because the Bible commands me to.

Brother Jared, that is exactly the claim of all other religions. That the work of their own God is the only true revelation of God's plan for Mankind. I am in disagreement, as I believe that no one God can corner the market on being The True God. God is God in all His forms, whether He manifests as Jesus, Allah, Vishnu or Buddha.

Then please explain why "Allah" told Mohammad that the only way to Heaven is through Islam, and why Jesus said that the only way to Heaven is through Him, and why Gautama Buddha seemed to think that gods were unnecessary.

They're all contradictory, and each claims the only way. If they are all representations of the same "force", why can't any of them get it right?

No, they all mean the same thing - they were referring to the same Higher Power or the Universe or Allah or Vishnu or what have you. A rose by any name...

WRT Gautama Buddha - Yes, Gautama did not believe in the existence of a Creator. However, He did acknowledge the power of Nature and the natural order (dharma)' and this is not in contradiction to other religions who refer to a God. He also insisted that worthy souls in one's midst be revered - this includes one's ancestors, amd one's Gurus. What Gautama referred to as Nature / dharma, Sanatana Dharma calls the Eternal Brahman. Christians call this Power God, while Muslims refer to it as Allah. Claiming that the Buddha was an atheist indicates a lack of knowledge of both the Guru and His teachings.

When 6 billion people speak over hundred different languages (not all of which are understood by each and every one of them), it is quite natural that we have a similar diversity in the name / description of the God that each of us adheres to.

BTW, Mr. Jenkins, God does not tell you to rejoice in the death of your fellow humans. Gloating over the slaughter of millions of innocents is not 'righteous'. What Bible do you read and show me a verse in the Bible that says you should be happy to see others killed !

This forum looks like it would be a good place to learn about Chrisitianity.

There is no better place.

My first question is why Chrisitians consider the Bible alone to be The Word of God. What about the Gita, the Quran, the Torah etc, which also preach about the love of God for humans ?

Mahabarata is idolotrous trash. The Quran is filled with violence and contradictions and bad science. The Torah is part of the Bible, so we accept it. We just don't accept the vain babbling of the Jews outside the Bible.

Secondly, Jesus was Love Personified and a practicing Jew. But many Christians hate Judaism, which was close to His heart ! Can you please explain why, since Christ was, in essence, a Rabbi ? If you follow His words and accept Him as the Son of God, then aren't you essentially Jews, too ?

We have become God's favorite people in place of the Jews. As for the Jews themselves, you should read what Christ himself had to say about them: Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. Matthew 23:33-35

Of course, Jesus might have been a little pissed off because the Jews were trying to kill him at the time.

Have you ever tried reading the Bible? Because you have some strange ideas about what it says.

Bottom line, I love my neighbor and I love my enemies, but I tell the truth about God and the Bible. I'd say that I'm sorry you find that truth insulting, but, honestly, I'm not sorry at all.
