    Searching for Jesus

    Hi all
    1. What church do I go to?
      N/A

    2. What’s my favorite Bible verse?
      Romans 5:12

    3. How did I come to find Jesus?
      Still searching for Him

    Some comments to the above…
    1. I live in a very small village in a very godless country (Sweden). In that village we have exactly 1 church which is practically always unattended (which is very common in Sweden). Even if anyone would bother to go there, they would be preached Lutheranism, which is really not my cup of tea. Luther got 6 children with a nun and translated the bible to German, a language not capable of capturing the essence of such a great book. Well, you know the story.

    2. I do read the bible. Not as much as I should but I’m improving all the time. I’m very appealed by parts covering death and sin; not sure why. My favorite book is the book of Revelation. Parts like Revelation 9:6 tends to put me in a good mode.

    3. Intellectually I accept Jesus; emotionally, I’m not fully there yet. I look at finding Jesus as a work in progress; a work that must take no longer than the time I’ve left to live. Hopefully much less than that.
    Stop whining
(1 Thessalonians 5:18) - In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
(1 Corinthians 10:10) - Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer
(Psalm 106:25) - But murmured in their tents, And hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD
(Ephesians 4:29) - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers

Welcome! How many children has your wife had for you?

      Friend, your search is over!

You need not "feel" Jesus emotionally, for our LORD does not manipulate through emotions. In fact, He doesn't really care and wants you to not care either. Consider Jesus' own words:

But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.
      Matthew 21:28-32

We know publicans and harlots (or gays or tramps of any kind) are incapable of feeling or giving love and yet these will Jesus offer Salvation. Why? Because they believed and obeyed, not because they felt warm fuzzies in their hearts.

Don't worry about the lack of warm fuzzies in your heart. As a one escaping the savagery of eskimo life, your heart is probably equally incapable of comprehending what love feels like anyway. Give it time. If you are sincere and truly love the LORD and accept Jesus as your LORD and Master, the emotions will come.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

          Re: Searching for Jesus

I am a bit bothered by your comment that you are still looking for Jesus. Friend, Jesus has always been by your side. Walking alone at night, showering, defecating and while in bed. He is watching you all the time. You just need to open yourself like the petals of a Rose to His turgid Majesty and allow Him to come unto you.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

              Welcome to God's favorite forum.

The Word of God can be had for free if you just visit your local Independent Baptist Church and ask the Pastor for one. Make sure you ask specifically for a KJV1611 Authorized Version Bible.

Also you can read one online at www.biblegateway.com. And for your assisted reading pleasure, Brother V has got a wonderful thread going HERE called "Bible in a Year."

If you'd like to find out more about Landover Baptist Church, please read THIS thread created especially for new posters.

If you have a question, use the "search" function before posting it. Most likely it is being discussed somewhere on this Godly forum. Please don't waste God's precious bandwidth.

You will keep a respectful tongue in your head whenever addressing your betters, which includes all True Christians™. Failure to do so, or any attempt at inciting debate or mockery of God's Divine Plan, can and will result in the suspension of your posting privileges.

Your rights on this forum are listed HERE. If you feel that any of these rights have been violated, please don't hesitate to contact a Pastor at once.

I am not familiar with the N/A church. You don't mean Narcotics Anonymous do you? That is not a church and they worship many gods like a Greek temple.

Narcotics Anonymous is an unknown organization where I come from. Probably because nobody is interested in even trying to hide their drug abuse in this godforsaken country.
