Yes of course. If your health issues could be explained by naturally occurring cause and effect, or even randomly occurring cellular activity, we'd all be atheists.

You misunderstand God, dear. You do not have to try. Jesus did all the work for you. By dying for a long weekend, spending a few hours in pain and a few days visiting friends in the spiritual realm, His temporary sacrifice accomplished all that your efforts could never accomplish. All you need to do is trust Him.

If you are not cured, it is simply because you have not yet been grafted onto the vine. Did Jesus suffer from arthritis or depression? No. If you were actually Saved, you would no longer suffer either because you would no longer be you, but you would be Him. Only, you would still look like you. Well, without the crippling arthritis. (Galatians 2:20)

...though I do worry sometimes, late at night while trying to sleep...what if it's all a lie? A lie someone started up two thousand years ago to control the people, and give them Hope? To stop them from rebelling, because it's okay if they abuse you in this life, because the people who did it will burn in the next. There's not nearly enough justice in this world, so why not give them something that will keep them happy thinking of it and that will stop them from seeking justice on their own? Something to stop the people from going insane, because can any of you imagine a world without god, or an afterlife?

The thought terrifies people; they cover their ears and block it out and try not to think about it. That's probably my worst fear, if it's actually the truth and this is the only life we get.

    Any advice...?

My goodness! God really has smitten your family. It would seem that one of your ancestors really made God angry and he has punished the iniquity for generations.

Have you tried praying properly? If so and it hasn't worked, perhaps deep in your heart you are whining and blaming God and finding Him unfair and arbitrary (in your arrogance) rather than praising Him for giving you a clear signal that you are worthless trash and need to get right with Him.

It might take a lifetime of suffering just so your soul is OK to go to Heaven, but I think you'll agree that it's worth thanking Him for the opportunity to be saved.

    GLORY!

    Deluded...

Those who fail to take the Bible literally and walk in the light of Jesus are a part of Satans Kingdom...Yet the un-Godly fail to recognize their decrepid state of delusion....

This would explain your obsession with Helloween and slash em up horror flicks...Must be a dark and lonely place in your head, I strongly recommend that you invite Jesus in to replace the blood stained images in your head with the Blood of Jesus, His Blood can make you as pure and white as snow

I'm so sorry. The liberalism and lesbianism and public orgies and inappropriate art of Californication are a truly horrible thing. I truly hope you don't fall in with those that partake in such things.

Arthritis? At your age? Odd. Are you sure you are telling us the truth? If so, prayers and partaking of Landover's interweb worship telecast would be perfect--following a nice tithe, of course.

My dear, "depression" is just a worldly person's way of saying: "I suck and am a loser and am all about me, and I don't want to get out and do anything like help others or worship God!"

Depression is nothing. The condition was essentially made up by liberal Jooi$h doctors. If you quit thinking about yourself and try, you'll feel better. Read the KJV Bible for a start!

So you are an agnostic? You don't really know what you believe? You're just wandering through life aimlessly?

    We have to change that!

    Why, of course we will...

Galatians 6:2: "Bear ye one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ"

That's terrible! Halloween is Satan's birthday! It is our practice to renounce that "helliday" and all likeness to it!

Thank you for your kind words. I don't do any of those things, no, and I'm glad that you're willing to support me and didn't call me a heathen just because I like to play videogames. I'm sorry that I don't share your opinion on depression, and yeah, I'm hoping to write a novel and get a purpose in life. And I only like Halloween because it's an excuse to dress up and play pretend, not because I worship the devil. >w< But again, thank you for your kind words.

Yeah, the arthritis is true, and I hate it. D:

No; like one of the other posters said, He is easily capable of curing me. But if He doesn't, like I already said, there's a reason for it. It could be that I'm not trying hard enough to be one of God's own, but it could also be a test of my faith, and whether I'll stop believing in Him or not because He's chosen not to cure me.

He knows you are suffering, and is easily able to end your suffering. It's no skin off His nose, so to speak.

    He does not do so.

That means either He has chosen to inflict the suffering, or has chosen not to remove the suffering.

Why do you suppose that is?
I never said he was a liar, where did that come from? I merely ask for strength to help get me through this dark time in my life. I suppose you could argue that He hasn't taken away my depression because He's testing me, not because He hates me or something else so foolish to assume. Surely you've all felt there are times where He's given you obstacles to overcome, too?

From where do you get your opinion, dear? Surely not the Holy Bible.

Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
    James 5:14-15

You see, the LORD wants to Bless His Own.

And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and theirs offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
    Isaiah 61:9

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
    Romans 8:17

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
    Philippians 4:19

But for the LORD to Bless you, you have to be one of His Own.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
    John 15:5

I met some of my best friends in here, and they're also what helps get me through the day. But I don't intend to gloss over any of it, no.
The opinion you respect is not mine, but God's. I have no opinion of my own. I am but an empty vessel for the LORD to use: Jesus with skin on.

    Both.
Friend, my opinions mean nothing. What matters is what God's expectations are. See, God had every possible occurence figured out with the best solution. He had His disciples record it all with simple examples in the KJV Bible.
So you told us of your tales of 'poor me'. We told you why and what to do about it.
Give yourself to Jesus or suffer forever. Pretty simple.

Welcome! You've come to the right place for Godly support

Halloween is Satans holiday, so basically, not cool announcing that

Furthermore, skipping church, if in doing so hinders your walk with God, just because your in pain is oxymormonic when you consider how painful hell will be. Not judging, just wanted to share that with you...

Admitting to not having read the entire Bible, I am not surprised one bit you are depressed, I would be too without my personal relationship with God. He can restore your brain to sanity and clarity if you put all your trust and faith in him...

How can you sleep soundly at night watching horror movies? I would be so frightened seeing worldly images that I couldn't sleep. You sharing your taste in un-Godly movies is very revealing of your state of mind and where you stand with Jesus...
