    Expanding the Mind

Hello everyone. As you may know from my username, I am wiccan. Indeed this is considered to be "Satan's" work but you can rest assure that I don't believe in him. Although Im sure many will think he's so tricky and that's what he wants me to think. Believe what you will. Anyways, I'm not here to "troll" you either. I'm here to expand my mind. I want to know about all religions so that way I may grow spiritually and understand people better. I have Christian friends that tell me what they learn, but I thought it would be more beneficial if I heard from many people who have a deeper understanding.
Im very moved about the teachings of Jesus. He was a very loving man and I honor his teachings of love by loving everyone.
Even if you hate me for what I believe in, and trust me I don't expect tolerance or love back, but you are fellow man (and woman) and I love you all just the same.
In any case, if you are curious in what I believe it is this: all gods and goddesses that have ever existed are all forms of the same energy. They are all different aspects of the same thing. I believe in the earth and the natural energies and cycles within it. I will leave out other things that you couldn't understand.
I'm not trying to shove anything down your throat. It was just a small blurb of my spirituality. In any case I am here to learn and love. Thank you

    Re: Expanding the Mind

Oh my, a spawn of Satan. Shocking!!!

Read the Bible. Stop following some made up kiddie game gobbledygook. Get right with God.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I am glad to hear that.

I have a 2 step program to fix your total disaster of a life (Exodus 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live):

        Step #1: Shut your yap!
Step #2: Study your Bible until your eyes bleed.

        You're welcome.

Actually, it's Gerald Gardner's work. From the 1950s.

Kind of pathetic, to walk away from millenia of service to the One True God so you can play "Bewitched" and cast pretend spells that don't do anything.

          Thanks for the condescension!

Sounds like you are a pantheist of sorts. Why pick Wicca, the most recently made-up religion (not including Scientology)?

Thank you sir. But I'm looking for more constructive ways to learn... I learn best from other people. Everyones take on god is different, every branch of Christianity is different. Do I not deserve the chance to learn about yours?

There is no way to learn of God except by reading the Bible, dear.

Plenty of so-called "Christians" decide for themselves what they think God should believe, then assign their beliefs to Him.

We learn who God is from the one and only reliable, objective source: The Bible, not our "feelings".

I picked wicca because I felt drawn to the thought of the cycles of life and the energies in those cycles it soothes me in some way. Please excuse me if I upset you I don't mean to if I come off that way

I shall invest in a Bible then I know that different churches focus on different beliefs about what the Bible means and understanding god. What is this churches take on it? What makes you different from other ones?

Also, as wicca has been around for so little time, I believe the concepts of it has been around for ever. Again, one cant just simply understand and I don't expect it either. I don't even expect you to care. My goal is looking at all religions to understand people and the world better. What you say only adds to my understanding of you, your religion, all religions and how they interact, how people interact and about people as a whole. I thank you for whatever words you wish to spare to me

But why would it soothe you if you have no reason to believe it to be true?

Isn't truth more important than "what feels good"?

                            Re: Expanding the Mind

When I said "man (and woman)" I meant to say women. I was speaking of man as in all men, the species of man. I didn't mean anyone in particular. I didn't want to upset any women who might be reading. Indeed, I love all man (everyone, men and woman alike) because no matter what we believe, we are united under this. We are brotheren, even if you feel ill to be anywhere related to me. I love you. You are in my heart dispite your words.
For Rev. M. Rodimer: Hmm, let me explain. I believe in the energies of the earth: the sunrise, the sweet bird song, blooming flowers, the whispering winds, a baby's sigh, laughter, love, friendship. Are these things not real? I have faith in what I believe in just as you have faith that God is real. Your faith is real and that makes God real. My faith is real too. Does that not make what I believe in real?
If no one believed in God, then he wouldn't be real right? Like the Greek gods. They were real until people stopped believing in them. I believe all gods and goddesses are real because they are all aspects of the same thing. I believe in your god, although not as devoutly as you do, as I believe in all gods and goddess.
Think of it this way: if your god represents everything, then all the other gods out there are just other names for a small part of him. All of them are real because they are all a little part of one big thing. Like if your god was a pie, my god would be just a small slice, but still apart of the same pie. Do you understand what I'm saying? I just choose to worship a small part that I connect with the most.
