      Hi, Krissy!

Could you help me with a little question I have? No pagans seem willing to answer it.

It's a known fact that there aren't detailed records showing how "pagans" worshiped their various deities. Sure, when it comes to the Greeks and Romans, we have some good information; they had a god or goddess for just about everything. Like the Whitman's Sampler of religions.

Since you're "eclectic", I'll assume you're not focusing on Greco-Roman mythology, and instead drawing in some more generic "nature spirits", etc.

What I'm curious about is, how do you know of these entities you worship? Upon what evidence did you decide that God, as described in the Bible, who has over 4 billion followers in the world today (if we include Muslims and Jews, who at least claim to follow God), is just a silly superstition, but your assorted deities are real?

How can you pick a religion based on what "feels good"? Is not truth more important? What if you're wrong, and God burns you alive for all time in His Lake of Fire because you chose a religion that seemed fun and nice instead of True?

Or do you really think paganism is Truth? Based on what evidence?

OK, that was more "a few questions". I look forward to reading your thoughts. (On the screen, not through some demonic "telephonesis" or whatever.)

        Thank you for the welcome.

You’re correct that I don’t strictly focus on any one particular mythology, or “path”, and I have used terms such as “Spirits of Nature” or even simply “The Divine”. However, I tend to dismiss the liberal theology of “all gods are the same god” that some Pagans and Wiccans today tend to follow.

Am I worshipping the Gods the way Pagans from ancient times worshipped them? Without detailed records it’s hard to tell for sure, but it’s very likely that there are significant differences between then and now.

“…how do you know of these entities you worship?” Well, I read about various pantheons and mythologies. How do I know that the Gods that I worship are real? I consider myself open-minded, but that does not mean that I’ll automatically believe anything that I read or am being told. For this particular subject I spent many, many hours for many, many months meditating on the subject. And I personally believe that they’re real.

“How can you pick a religion based on what "feels good"?” As I’ve stated above, I spent months meditating on it before coming to a conclusion. I believe it as truth. Is that a reason for me to go out and “preach” about the Gods or my belief in hopes of conversion? Of course not. Now, if someone were to come up to me and ask me about my feelings on a particular God or about a belief system that’s either similar or different to my own, then I’ll gladly answer them.

“What if you're wrong, and God burns you alive for all time in His Lake of Fire because you chose a religion that seemed fun and nice instead of True?” Well, I’ve never been to the afterlife, nor have I had “visions” of hell during my meditations. Is there a possibility that I’m wrong? I suppose there is that possibility. However, I don’t see that as enough reason to completely dump the beliefs that I hold as true.
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Yet you would have never even heard of Wicca if not for Gardner.

Correct. How do you know you're doing it right? How do you know you aren't just making them more angry?

How do I know that the Gods that I worship are real? I consider myself open-minded, but that does not mean that I’ll automatically believe anything that I read or am being told. I'm sure if you spent months and months meditating on Christ and the Gospel, you would reach the same conclusion.

“What if you're wrong, and God burns you alive for all time in His Lake of Fire because you chose a religion that seemed fun and nice instead of True?” Well, I’ve never been to the afterlife, nor have I had “visions” of hell during my meditations.
You have never had visions of hell during your meditations. Could it be that you were wanting to not believe in God's punishment, therefore it happened?

Is there a possibility that I’m wrong?
Tell you what, since we don't have time for a protective spell to work nor can we test whether it is the spell, God or good fortune keeping me alive, why not send me a curse? If it doesn't work, we'll know for sure, won't we?

I suppose there is that possibility. However, I don’t see that as enough reason to completely dump the beliefs that I hold as true.
If your curse works on me, I'll change my beliefs. If it doesn't, you change yours.

          Deal?
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Confession, right. Well, this past election I voted democrat, I've participated in a threesome before (a couple time actually... once with 2 guys, and another times with 1 guy and 1 girl), I don't consider myself a lesbian, but I have had some lesbian encounters, I went through a "goth" phase in high school (laughable to look back now), I've enjoyed some, er... "adult" films. I've listened to rock 'n roll music, I've smoked marijuana, I've laughed at Christians praying, and I've masturbated on numerous occasions.
I don't have any pictures of these events (although I can't be sure if my former "friends" have any of me or not...)

I am not trying to be mean but part of your name is a bad word for the privates of a woman. I am sorry if it is your family name I did not know. I think you should ask the pastors here to change it. They are very nice.

I am not trying to be mean but part of your name is a bad word for the privates of a woman. I am sorry if it is your family name I did not know. I think you should ask the pastors here to change it. They are very nice.

                                Thank you.

Thank you, Rusty. And no need to apologize. My username was changed (for good reason) because I was under the delusion of paganism. I have since seen the Truth and I'm sure that God will allow the good pastors here to change it to something more pleasant.

EDIT: It seems the pastor's are ahead of me (as they rightfully should be)
