Hello everyone, I am happy to have run across your site, last night I posted without having come here first, therefore I have an infraction, and would like to apologize for overlooking the instruction to post here first. After doing some investigation into your church this afternoon, I feel like I am home. I first encountered a church such as yours while stationed in the midwest, several years ago, I am retired military, so now I better understand where you are coming from with your positions. I ave been in ministry on a part time basis for several years, in various positions, I have a degree in Christian Counseling.

Questions: Should Christians serve in the military? And I assume you have been subjected to Jesus by military chaplains, how does this differ to that of the civilian world? What branch of the armed forces have you served?

I am an Air Force veteran, and happy to meet another who has served.

I too served in the Air Force, 22yrs, as to experience with Chaplins, I have had mostly good ones. Guess you could say that I was blessed to run into men who held more true to their faith than the rules of military service as far as how they had to treat all beliefs.As a matter of fact early in my career I considered becoming a Chaplin until I had talked to some about how they had to deal with everything. Of course, I usually only dealt with them on deployments, however I was very good friends with one, but when I was state side I usually attended/served in a local church.

Twenty two years in service is commendable Lee. Chaplains are a rare breed, able to lead one behind the lines to uphold the line. There is no greater sacrifice then one who lays their life down for the fellow man they say. If you can keep that line for one more man, one more woman, one more child to an evacuation to safety behind enemy lines, despite the sacrifice of your own life -- there is no greater honor than that they say.

I'll never forget the first chaplain that set fire beneath my feet. During Desert Storm -- when Shield went to Storm -- when thousands upon thousands of soldiers were being subjected to the word of God. The Chaplain said, the Kingdom of Heaven is likened the air around you, even though you can't see it, it is there. The Kingdom of Heaven is likened to the wind, you may not see it but you can feel it. Just then thousands of soldiers broke out in praise, and during their march I could feel what the Chaplain was speaking. Heaven began Storming unrestrained, and by golly we kicked some butt over the desert.
