    Russell Holbeck

My name is Russell Holbeck. Most people call me Rusty except my children.

My favorite Bible verse is Psalms 116:6 and that is why I put in in my signature line.

I was not a religious person until a few months ago. I had an accident that put me in the hospital and they did some things wrong and now my memory is poor. Someone left a Bible with me when I was out and I woke up and started reading it.

    Thank you.

Friend, the Bible teaches us that having a poor memory is a blessing.

    Philippians 3:13-14

    King James Version (KJV)

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
So is a lack of understanding.

    Proverbs 3:5

    King James Version (KJV)

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Really, being stupid in general is an asset for any Christian.

There is a great deal of empirical evidence planted by Satan that needs to be ignored and forgotten about, such as transitional fossils, bacterial flagella, natural satellites, outer space, whale and bat anatomy, the position of pi, geology, Israeli archaeology, and the historical ubiquity of unevangelized people to name a few.

Leave it to the liberal, intellectual elite to go dwelling on facts that lead to damnation.

Welcome, Rusty! How many sons do you have, what's your favorite hunting rifle, and would you describe yourself as a Ford man or a Chevy man or what?

Hello Billy Bob Jenkins. Those verses sure seem like they were meant for me. I like it when I am reading the Bible and the part I am reading seems meant for me.

Hello Faith Machine. I have 2 sons and 2 daughters. They do not live with me and they do not visit very often and they do not write letters.

I do not hunt but I do have a .22 Henry that I use for pest control. There are plenty of pests in my area.

        I drive a Suburban.

        Thank you.

Well Rusty, I'm very sorry to hear that your children don't visit or write. You know what would be a good way of teaching them a lesson? Write those ingrates out of your will and leave all your money to the Lord! (In care of the Landover Baptist Church)

Hello Faith Machine. I took my children out of my will but the colored girl who helps me told me the Bible said I need to provide for them. She showed me the verse but I can not remember the exact verse. It was in the New Testament.

I put them back in my will. I need to find that verse again to make sure I read it right. It costs money to change your will.

            Thank you.

            Rusty.

                Hello Laurence Niles.

I was told the same thing by people before I hired her. She is a very religious person and calls herself a Christian. She is from St. Maarten. That is an island in the Caribbean so I think she also has voodoo. I do not allow her voodoo in the house and I do not allow her to speak french.

                Thank you.

                    Hi and welcome Russell

I think your accident was a blessing in disguise. This poor memory of yours will give you a great advantage when it comes to forgetting everything from your non Christian days. And everything you need from now on can easily be looked up in the Bible; since memorizing it all might not be an option, be sure to bring one at all times.
                    Stop whining
(1 Thessalonians 5:18) - In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
(1 Corinthians 10:10) - Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer
(Psalm 106:25) - But murmured in their tents, And hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD
(Ephesians 4:29) - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers

I think my accident was a good thing. I did not have Jesus in my life before the accident and now I have Jesus in my life.

                      Hello John North.

I think you may be right. There are many things that I would like to forget. But I also can not remember things I just read in the Bible. So I read it again.

I found the Bible verse that made me put my children back in the will. It is 1 Timothy 5:8 and it says:

But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

I wish it did not say that.

                      Thank you.

Hello Zechariah Smyth. The doctors did the best they could.

I think the girl working for me takes the animals I shoot and cooks them and eats them. She does this for her family not for me. Possums raccoons squirrels rats. I see her carrying them to her car.

Those people will eat anything I believe. I know that God gave us all animals but I also think He made some more appetizing.

                            Thank you.

Greetings Russell and welcome to the forums! You have truly been blessed by the Lord when he took away your memory because now those ungrateful children of yours are just fuzzy echos of a distant past. Keep reading your bible (KJV of course) and keep a watchful eye on that colored lady who works for you. All colored people steal so even if you think she hasn't stole from you she has. Again, welcome!

                              Obadiah 1:5

If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave some grapes?
                              Deuteronomy 23:1
Hee that is wounded in the stones, or hath his priuie member cut off, shall not enter into the Congregation of the Lord.
