It's so lonely here trying to get these people to see that it's necessary to use discernment when reading the bible.

    You poisonous rugmuncher!

You think you can tell better than they who wrote the Bible down on God's express instructions what's God's word and what is not? Why don't you just go the whole hog and be an atheist? You're going to burn in Hell either way.
2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Can you read that? I suppose you think they just made that up as well so nobody would ask any questions. That's the kind of circular logic I'd expect.

You don't really believe in Jesus; you just like the idea of having people listen to your opinions thinking they are rubber stamped by God. Well they aren't rubber stamped by the real, living God of the Bible!

Well, and how do you propose to know for sure which "bits" are true and which ones are "fables", as you so presumptuously classified them? Are you saying that you are more discerning than The Almighty God? Do you really think that He would allow for "fables" and untrustworthy fabrications to be included in His Holy Word? It is a dangerous ground you are walking on! Check out Paul's letters to Timothy, it states there very precisely that all Scrupture is inspired by God and is true, not just some bits and pieces for us to pick and choose.

Hi, medude, I was reading through your thread and I am concerned about one thing: why do you presume that you have these "years to come"? You know, no one is guaranteed even another day, let alone years? Our lives are "like vapor", (see the book of James, chapter 4), we are completely in the Lord's hands and only He grants us each new day. Be thankful for His mercies, which are new every morning, and use the time that He gives you on this earth wisely.

It would be more helpful of you could stay and be an assistant in showing the gentle love of Jesus to these people. I feel like I'm making some headway.

All you need is a keen eye for which bits of the bible are reliable and agree with science and modern day ethics and which do not. Once you are as good at it as me (I'll show you what to think, have no fear) you'll be a convincing voice for the more gentle face of Jesus that's needed in these modern times.

Hello medude how are you? I am fine. I think that you are a very self centered person and that is why your name starts with "me." I would think a self centered person would enjoy writing a introduction about himself but maybe I am wrong.

I do not know why you think the whole BIBLE is not true because it clearly is. Just read DANIEL 9:24-27 and you will see that DANIEL predicted the coming of JESUS THE MESSIAH. He predicted this 583 years before it happened, and he was one hundred percent right!

I hope that one example of how the BIBLE is true will help you and I hope you will post a nice introduction soon. I always try hard to follow the rules around here and it makes me angry when other people do not follow the rules. It makes me feel the way a lawful immigrant must surely feel when he looks at all those illegal aliens from Mexico jumping to the front of the line.

You do not want to be like these guys do you?

Leave mean comments at the door? Friend, if I've said anything to you that sounded like a mean comment, I sincerely apologize! I just wanted to make sure you posted a proper introduction, mainly because I'd like to get to know you better, but also because our rules require it.

I want to believe, I've just had my problems with men and find it hard to trust something that has gone through the hands of so many men that may or may not have been corrupt.
Jesus is in your heart, young man. Many parts of the Bible are mistranslated or just plain mistaken when it was written. I mean, do you really think god wants us to kill gays?
Leviticus 20:13 "If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offence.

Search yourself inside, young man. You know this is wrong. You know it's not right to kill people just because they are gay.

However, when the bible says stuff that sounds kind and loving and as if Jesus was a nice person who thought women should be treated equally then you can be assured it has been translated correctly and should be followed as if it is the absolute truth! It's all a matter of using your judgement and under no circumstances thinking you could just go it alone and forget about God and just make up your own morals.

Introducing yourself is part of our forum rules.

The introduction forum Attention Unsaved Trash: This the ONLY subforum you can start threads in. Here is where you introduce yourself. Tell us what church you go to and what your favorite Bible verse is and how you came to find Jesus.

If you can't follow the simple rules of our forum, how do you expect to follow the rules that God has laid out for us in the Bible?

The KJV 1611 has stood the test of time. 400+ years and still going strong.

These new hippie perversions of the Bible are just a sign of end times. You will notice that they've all been published since the 1960's. If you look at the NIV 2011, they've now changed the wording to say that you have to "believe", but doesn't say what you need to believe in.

They would never, because the Bible tells them not to.

Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Revelation 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Medude, Zechariah hinted very subtly that you should type up a proper introduction, but you don't seem to have taken the hint.

Please tell us what church you attend, what your favorite Bible verse is, and which Republican you are fervently praying will be the next President of the United States.

    My money's on Jeb Bush!!!!!!
