    Hello fellas, tattoos?

It has been a little while since posting on this forum. I ran into a very short video and was wondering about what you all thought about this. The gents argument starts out it seems with the old logic, two wrongs make a right. Then he goes into what seems to be proper hermeneutics...

Looking forward to hearing from you and receiving some Godly advice? I have a tattoo and regret it. And a family member has dozen, and now I'm looking at a young granddaughter that thinks them to be alright.... where does it stop?

    Re: Hello fellas, tattoos?

    Bad news, friend.

Leviticus 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

The Bible says not to get tattoos, you don't get tattoos, end of story.

Yes, in the video the argument was made that in context this was referring to specific time and place. And was prohibiting marking to do with idol worship. In context things like taking meat with blood and even having one's hair cut would also have to be addressed, for one would be a hypocrite to say that the bible prohibits ink and not follow the rest in context?

I know the Scripture, but I'm looking for additional perspectives before addressing this. Other arguments were, Jesus never addressed them. My thoughts are, really, had Jesus a need to address them? I mean the Jews had their laws and knew them, as you so kindly pointed out.

          Just no.

The Bible is literally true. What other people think does not matter. Do you seriously think mere humans know the mind of God?

And I'm happy to accept your answer, I'll give it to them like a four year old, it's just that the four year old always has this annoying habit of asking - why?

That should have been a red flag right there. To liberal false Christians, every Biblical law that they don't like referred to a specific time and place and had to do with idol worship. I've even heard that argument used agasint the Biblical condemnation of sodomy.

The problem is that the Bible doesn't say so. It doesn't say, "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you, because here and now it's a form of idolatry, but in different cultures in the future, it will be cool."
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

Then you've come to the wrong place, dear. You'll find naught but Biblical Truths here at Landover Baptist Church.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Pastor, I sincerely thank you. The obvious eluded me.

God Bless and thank you for equipping me to better deal with liberal members of the body of Christ!
