I believe I was guided to this forum by the Holy Spirit and the grace of God. I am here to learn and to deepen my knowledge of the Bible. In time, I hope to be able to help those who doubt to entrust themselves to Jesus' hands. After perusing this forum for some time, I have seen plenty of evidence that there are many who seek the truth, but who perhaps are unwilling to accept what that truth encompasses in their day-to-day lives. With your guidance, I pray I will become as proficient at revealing the truth as you who dedicate yourselves to this ministry.

Re: Not sure where to start...
Well hello, and welcome to our friendly forums! If you aren't sure where to start, may I humbly suggest reading the Holy Bible! In it, you'll find God's Plan for Your Life!
If you have read it, I would suggest starting again! You can never read it too many times! Also, you might want to look around our enormously inspired and helpful Bible Study Fora. You'll find all kinds of wonderful Biblical truths to explore and commit to memory!
So tell us, what is your favorite Bible verse? Which one sets your soul aflame for the Love of the LORD?
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Re: Not sure where to start...
Oops, I forgot to mention a few things. I am a member of the Berean Baptist Church here in the godless state of Illinois. My favorite Bible verse will always be Matthew 5:18-19 because it makes clear that the entire Bible is as God intended it to be, not as some "cafeteria Christians" would have it. I was reborn in the blood of Jesus late last year after having spent many years hoodwinked by the doctrines of Catholicism, thanks to Pastor Mark Swanson who I happened to meet by accident in a hospital waiting room. That conversation changed my life and saved my soul. I type this as best I can as my vision is blurred by my tears.Yours always in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior,

Welcome to God's chosen forum.
PS - you refer to Illinois as "godless" but God is omnipotent.
He is EVERYWHERE even in Obama State!I Samuel 20:4

This is not a reference of a homosexual relationship but a friendship of depth and platonic commitment! Why must liiebrals always make everything sound so DIRTY!?

Re: Not sure where to start...
Indeed, I am married. We've raised six children (four of whom are alive to us). We've been legally married for many years, but are planning to have our pastor marry us properly in the eyes of God this summer. All four of our kids, although they are all on their own now, remain close and devoted to Jesus. Unfortunately, two of our offspring have gone astray. We failed somewhere along the way and pray constantly for forgiveness for our failures. Our oldest so-called daughter has chosen to be a lesbian, has been with the same woman for almost three years. Now we hear she and her "friend" are engaged. And with Illinois now on the verge of slapping God in the face with legalization of lesbians becoming each other's next of kin, we are distraught. Another daughter also chose to perish in hell with a woman who's lived with her for over ten years. She is also dead to us. The other four kids are wonderful, though. Two are daughters who've found husbands, two are sons who are serving in the armed forces, but who had the good sense to marry and have children first. We now have four grandchildren and soon a fifth if an adoption can ever be finalized. I am so very sorry for having failed to fully read the instructions at the top of the page before my introductory post. It was a careless oversight on my part and I will continue to strive to comply with all rules going forward. Be accept my apology.Yours always in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior,
Marc

Re: Not sure where to start...
Well there sure does seem to be a lot of people who don't want God here. It just grates on me when I hear on the news that the state legislature here is trying to pass a bill making marriage legal between lesbians and queers. I am aware of God's omnipotence and pray continually for a targeted "natural" catastrophe to hit Springfield where so many evil plots are being hatched in defiance of God's plan for us. It pains me to be reminded that B. Hussein Obama ever was associated with this state, but this state has become famous, if for nothing else, for corruption among its elected officials. Two consecutive governors now sit in prison, but probably won't be required to serve complete sentences.Originally posted by Alterboy View PostWelcome to God's chosen forum.

Welcome, young man. Why not upload a suitable photograph of yourself? Nice to get an idea of who we are witnessing with. The Worldwide Internet Cyberspace is handy for saving souls, but also often a gateway to filthy sin, especially when people claim to be something they are not. Rest assured, Jesus tells me that you do indeed love Him, praise God!
Illinois is indeed a cesspool of wicked sin, chock full of God-mockery and mud-packing. When I made the choice to be rectalsexual, I always spent my summers in Peoria, for the fair weather and abundance of homeless queers. Like any fag, my day was spent coupling with as many anonymous sissies as possible in the public toilet stalls and hating God. But that's a long story and behind me now since I let Jesus inside me rather than strange men.
Have you armed yourself for the day that frenetic and aggresive predatory homogays roam the neighborhoods looking for victims?
In ChristMatthew 19:14 "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

Welcome friend, people like you are a breath of fresh air, a cleansing of the soul, leaving a person feeling freshly washed in the Blood of Christ(c). These days, it seems most people are atheists and lezbian Homersexualers. I am always getting the feeling that normal, decent people are becoming out numbered.
How many sons have been born in to your family?Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Re: Not sure where to start...
I'm ever so grateful for the "young man". It's been a good while since I was called such. I've uploaded a photo of myself taken last summer outside the narthex after our Wednesday evening Men's Bible Study. I hope it shows up next to my name soon so you can see I'm not so young anymore. I've never been to Peoria, but it can't be any worse than my hometown of Marengo when it comes to roving packs of limp-wristed predators casing the playgrounds. I'm so glad for you that you finally let Jesus have His way with you. As you may know, Illinois is the last remaining state that does not allow for legally carrying a concealed weapon. As I have no wish to be victimized, I practice a little civil disobedience to prevent being thus violated.Originally posted by Brother Harold Porter View PostWelcome, young man. Re: Not sure where to start...
After having four daughters, we persisted and were finally blessed with two sons, one of whom has already fathered a grandson for us, the other of whom was only recently married and is serving our country by blowing the heads off Afghan Muslims. He's due home sometime in May and I've expressed to him my hope for a grandson as a result of his reunion with his wife. But that reunion will have to wait a day or two after his return as he and I are planning to ride our motorcycles through the hills of Kentucky and Tennessee (sans wives) and spend some quality time together visiting a few of the tobacco plantations, distilleries, and Baptist churches that dot the landscape of that beautiful area. Appalachia is full of good Christian folk, from what I've heard.Originally posted by James Hutchins View PostWelcome friend, people like you are a breath of fresh air, a cleansing of the soul, leaving a person feeling freshly washed in the Blood of Christ©. Re: Not sure where to start...
I am so sorry to hear about your loss.

I hope you find comfort in the Blessed LORD's Sweet Justice (Revelation 20:15), and that you will be so distracted when joining the LORD in laughing at the suffering of sinners in Hell, that you'll forget to be sad about your wicked children burning in the Lake of Fire (Psalm 2:4).

Re: Not sure where to start...
Miss Etheldreda, I am moved by your compassion and blessed by your advice. My losses were long enough ago that the only feelings I have about them now amount to shame for my wife's failure as a parent. I saw the warning signs when the two female offspring in question were very young. They feigned interest in dolls and learning to cook, but were both avid sports enthusiasts with more-than-healthy interest in girls' softball, wearing pants, and haircuts that would've only looked right on Clint Eastwood. The harsh discipline I continually meted out seemed to only fuel their defiance of me and, more importantly, of God. By the time they'd each made it through high school they had both slipped into full-blown career and college aspirations instead of raising families. It wasn't until a few years later that we realized they would not be giving us grandchildren because the persons with whom they chose to share their beds are of the same weaker gender. Anyone knows that offspring cannot be produced from such lowly and unholy unions. I wish I could figure out where my wife went wrong in raising them.Originally posted by Mary Etheldreda View PostI am so sorry to hear about your loss.

Mr. Etheldreda never allowed me to breastfeed my daughters for this very reason. He couldn't stand the thought of one of his daughters enjoying a breast in her mouth.Originally posted by Marc Thyme View PostMiss Etheldreda, I am moved by your compassion and blessed by your advice.
