    Re: Hello!

Some people would say that George W. Bush is the worst president ever, but that doesn't make it true now does it? Only God's Say-So makes something True! He said EVERY WORD in the Bible, therefore EVERY WORD in the Bible is Literally TRUE. END OF STORY!

These people are called "liars". Pay them no heed.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

I am unsaved so I haven't figured it out yet. (Although I'd probably lean towards it being a symbol of...something.) I was thinking (is that allowed?) it may be some kind of foreshadowing to the "We are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its saviour" blah blah blah verses in the New Testament.

Indeed. It doesn't look very salty though and is completely different from the one shown in my Children's Bible w/illustrations. I am disappointed.

Brother Temperance and John, I am convinced!
Tir'd, and despairing, O celestial maid,
            I'm caught, I cry'd, without thy heav'nly aid.
Help me, Diana, help a nymph forlorn,

Brother Temperance, rest assured that I will not be making pilgramages to Ethiopia any time soon.

Have you not read the holy Bible (KJV1611)?

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him:
And he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
              1 John 3:9

You NEED His seed. EVERYONE DOES.
You interpret the word too sexually however, but I guess that tells me something about you.
              Lust is a sin, harlot.
If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: But if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
A foolish woman is clamorous: She is simple, and knoweth nothing.
              Proverbs 9:12-13

Hey, Pastor Pistle agreed with me! Are you calling him a harlot too? Because that would be funny.

I'm guessing this "seed" is another metaphor? But this leads me to another bit of confusion. I thought that everyone was a sinner in the eyes of God, even Christians, because no one is perfect except Jesus! Am I missing some kind of context?

Im sure the good Pastor was only pulling my leg.
Because he knows the Bible better than both of us put together..

And I only call you a harlot because of your deviant sexual practices, nothing else.
The good Pastor would never engage in such things, and don't ever try to insinuate it either.

                  Of course you're confused, you're a woman.
Just keep praying and putting your faith in Jesus, you may understand eventually.

Get your husband to explain to you at home as the KJV1611 says.

                  PRAISE JESUS!

We have handed our lives over to Jesus. His Blood has washed us clean of sin, and His Seed remains in us and prevents us from sinning again. Clear?
