Re: Praise His Name!
Thank you for the warm welcome, Brother Alvin, and continued blessing be upon your house.
Those who begat you were truly living the Word for His Glory as in Romans 8:31-32 and Romans 8:37
The native savages and papists attempted to persecute us and hinder us in the Godly pursuit to remake this great land for Him, but God's people will always win. There can be no question to the Righteousness of Our Cause.
It is true that each and every proud Southern, Caucasian male from these North & South Carolinas will exclaim the unyielding dominance of their particular kind of BBQ til even a Christian is tempted to tell them to "shut the Fred up!" These same individuals often have never even traveled beyond the borders of their county to taste any BBQ other than their own, either.
As a recovering SDA I have just recently abandoned a world of Veggie-Tales and entered into the bliss that can only be found in God, Guns, and Meat. God has chosen to bless me with an appetite for ribeyes, slow-cooked pork ribs and shoulders. I have no use for any sauce on pork (or beef for that matter). Dry rub and the natural juicy-ness that is slow-cooked pork is the way for me.
In my opinion, the real tragedy over the use of the word "barbecue" happens in the Northeast (they haven't figured out how to shorten it to BBQ yet). They call any type of grilling: barbecuing.
Then they don't even have the decency to slow-cook their meats.
If you ever find yourself in these hills, follow your nose to our cooking pit and commune with us, Brother. We can always make a place at the table for someone that looks and believes just like us, differences in BBQ preferences aside, of course.

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
