Hi just a couple of questions

    Hi everyone, my name's Miguel

I was born in Madeira which is a Catholic country, but I live in the UK. I'm not religious and found this forum on google.

First things first I dont go to any church and thus haven't found Jesus, and I don't really have a favourite Bible verse, but ill go with Revelation 22:13 - "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last."

Ok I actually have a question about this verse, and infact after reading your FAQ and guide before posting I now have two questions about this verse.

    1. I understand that you guys use a very literal interpretation when reading the Bible. This particular verse and I suppose a large portion of the Bible is laced in metaphor. I was wondering what your interpretation of this verse would be? I read it as God is omnipotent / allpowerful etc.

    2. What exactly does being allpowerful / omnipotent entail? Obviously it is impossible to completely answer this question otherwise you would be God, but is it that you know and can do anything. (in basic terms)

    3. This question only came up after reading the FAQ as I mentioned. I noticed that one of the people in the FAQ mentioned that Greeks are not well liked. Under these circumstances I find it very strange that this verse includes the words alpha and omega which are Greek letters. If God didnt like the Greeks surely he wouldn't use their alphabet to define himself?

Oh real quick last one too as this comes up in the pub every year. Was Jesus born on Christmas day? Or is that simply a day used to celebrate his birth?

    Cheers

    Miguel

Re: Hi just a couple of questions

Welcome Miguel, are you one of Pastor Zeke's gardeners? (I like to know to whom I speak)

Regarding your questions (By the way, I can barely tell you are a messican, good translations)
    1) We do not 'interpret'. God said what He meant and meant what He said. No 'spicing with tamales to suit'.
    2) God Maketh, God Breaketh, God Taketh away
3)Greeks - You really are interested in homofaqual rectal twerking?

You final comment is plain stupid (not that better is expected from you). Of course Jesus was not born on Christmas day. Perhaps you should spend less time drinking the warm beer and more time reading the Bible.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Sorry, I don't know who Pastor Zeke is. Im not Mexican. Im Portuguese, Madeira is a Portuguese Island.

Anyway, so what would you say is the meaning of this verse? Because if I take it exactly as written, it doesn't make much sense...

Wasn't most of the New Testament written in Greek? It seems strange to write a book which is God's word using a language used by people he doesn't like?

I'm Pastor Ezekiel, and if you're a Portogeese then I'm the king of Spain.

First of all, this is NOT a debate forum. We're right and you're wrong, according to Jesus and the Holy Word of God. Please read THIS thread before making an even bigger fool of yourself.

Secondly, while the internets might seem to be "free" to you, this particular corner of the internets is a privately owned Christian forum. The rights you have on this forum are listed HERE. Please contact a Pastor immediately if you feel that any of your rights have been violated.

Finally, your unsaved opinions or tantrums are not even slightly of interest to us. We follow the Holy Word of God TO THE LETTER, and make no apologies for that. One of the most important commandments in the Bible tells us to avoid unsaved scum such as yourself. You wandered in here uninvited, and unwelcome .
        Who Will Jesus Damn?

I don't understand why you don't believe me... Not sure what I would gain by lying about my nationality.

I wasn't planning on debating. I was merely asking questions.

2 Thessalonians 3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

          Fair enough.

            Hi, Miguel...

What is this "literal interpretation" of which you speak? We only read the Bible Word-for-Word and follow it to the letter; God says what He means and means what He says. End of story.

It means God can do any and everything possible - and impossible - that there is to do, including making a 4-sided triangle or one-hand clapping. God can do anything...

Matthew 19:26: With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

It all comes back to whether or not you actually believe the Bible.

Look around and you will find that God's People are always one step ahead of the world's people. The world has philosophy and we have Theology. So when God speaks to mankind, He uses their language to convey words (written down in the Bible, of course) to convey His Will, even though God still despises non-American speech of all kinds. When He used Greek terms, He did so merely as an analogy to help the godless pedos understand that He only is God and there is nothing else to life worth pursuing besides Him. God reaches down to save us in our own blind alienation from Him...

Acts 17:26-27: 26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

            God is good like that.
