[Mother Of Seven]

I'm very excited to finally join this forum. Let me explain.


I have 7 children (5 boys and 2 girls), so I've always been so busy. First with babies, then with home schooling and babies and now, just with home-schooling. I would never neglect my duties as a wife and mother, but the girls (aged 5 and 10) have finally grown old enough to take over some of the household chores. So I asked my husband if I could join this forum. Only if I didn't neglect him and the children, he said. Of course I never would do either of those things, so here I am.


My favourite passage from the Bible is from Titus 2:1-5 as it represents much of what I stand for.

1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

It sounds like you know your womanly duties as defined by God. I am glad to hear that you have your husband's permission to be here. So many women neglect to tell us that and we are left to wonder all sorts of things.

What church does your family attend and how did you come to find Jesus?

I attend Westgate Baptist Community Church.
When I was betrothed to the man who is now my husband, he told me that he could only marry a Christian woman, and so I began to study the Bible. I soon realised what had been missing all my life as Jesus came to me from out of those holy pages.

Hello Mrs Seven. It's great to hear that you're not neglecting your 5 precious children. Welcome to the forum where sound teaching is available from The Pastors. The KJV site is very handy I find and I appreciated the posting format you've used.
Titus is a great book and this passage from Chapter 3 often reminds me just what a wretch I used to be.

Mr Coleman, it is so sad to see those God-mockers. I can only conclude that were not properly caned as children. My children are caned on a regular basis and as a result, are good, God-fearing, polite and diligent, unlike those of which you speak.

Thank you for replying. At present I do not have an owner so it's just plain old Miss, but I respond to most names in practice. Yes they do have lovely voices, quite touching. Did you enjoy the subtle accordian? It really is a neglected instrument these days.

I think I was rather a disobedient child, not sure really because I never listened to anything anyone said to me, and we tended to travel a lot as indeed most of the family has continued to do so we're not very often on the same continent. Hunger is such an incentive to start getting "ideas" as is being cold Br-r-r-r both of which facts I discovered in Northern Europe. Sadly the options are rather limited there and as I spend most of my time at either coastal or inland locations, or on small islands, I've had to make do as best I can resulting in some repellent characteristics (I think that's what the heathens were suggesting but I didn't listen to them much either) before I found out about Jesus. I felt broken and useless but contribute what I can to His work knowing that indeed not only was I correct but that I am also worthless and debased, deserving only of torture but lifted up out of the mire in Him.

Seven children is a good start Imagine, we even had a mother of 20 here so don't relax!

Do you write your postings yourself or do you tell your husband what you want to say and he writes it down for you?

We're just thrilled to make your acquaintance, too, Seven. Do you have a name that we might address you with? Tell us all about your sonnes. How wonderful that you were blessed with those five!

You'll note that we women have our own area set aside for discussing the unimportant things that men loathe but we find dear. Please feel free to respond to posts there.

Are your husband's parents also Christian? I hope you have the blessing of a good and loving mother-in-law. Mother tells me that if I ever marry (which is unlikely, since I have reached such an old age) I should bring gifts to my mother-in-law (Ruth 3:17). I pass that on to you so that you might enjoy the rewards that come from following the Word of God.

I just know we'll get to be lifelong friends and I look forward to sharing housekeeping tips with you. I'm sure you can teach me many things.

It is indeed Mrs. Seven. Most of them grew up listening to God-Mocking music like Marilyn Manson, and the Beatles pair that with Atheist parents, and your going to have a God-Mocking child.
