    Greetings, Fellow Christians

It is a pleasure to greet you in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. My name is Mansfield Mansfield, born in Seattle, Washington of humble parentage (both were devout Baptists) and now living in the wretched city of Portland, Oregon. One day, Mt. Hood will surely be the cause of this city's removal from the earth. I am planning to move once my youngest finishes Christian school.

I attend the First Baptist Church of Portland, along with my devoted wife, Jennifer, and our five sons, Blake, Franklin, Austin, Daniel, and Mansfield Jr. Jennifer is currently with child; she is an adoring and wonderful woman that is a fine mother to our boys. Blake is the captain of the church Bible Study for Teens and feels called to the ministry. Franklin loves sports and would love to coach wrestling one day. Austin and Daniel, our twins, are going to finish 2nd grade in a month or so and little Mansfield is entering kindergarten.

My practice is based on the Bible. I pray for my patients and share with them the word of the Lord at every visit. I have been persecuted for this, but I accept this willingly, as the Lord said we would face this from non-believers.

    2 Timothy 3:12
Yea, and all that will liue godly in Christ Iesus, shall suffer persecution.

My favorite verse in God's Word is difficult to discern, but it will come as no surprise that this one stands out for me, Praise Him:

Luke 5:31 And Iesus answering, said vnto them, They that are whole need not a physician: but they that are sicke.

As a medical student, I was invited to church by a fellow that was one of my mentors. I am ashamed to say that I had spent the previous night in debauchery and drink, but the pastor spoke of the love and forgiveness a man could find in our Lord. Broken and in need of spiritual help, I accepted Christ that day. I was baptized the following week and have faithfully attended services since. My loving wife was a children's caregiver at the church. Her obvious skills with the children attracted me, and her smile, humility, and fair face drew me in. We married and began our family almost immediately. I believe Blake was conceived on our marriage bed.

I seek fellowship with you so that I may continue to be a good example for my sons, a good husband to my loving wife, and a good friend to all. My prayers are with all of you. By the way, I would be pleased if you call me Doc - since most of my friends do.

    Yours in Him,
    Doc

    Welcome Doc
It's going to be a long time before you can move out of Oregon, if your youngest has just commenced kindergarten. Have you considered moving away and home-schooling? Or finding a more Godly city that has good schools?
I home school my 7 (soon to be 8), and I find it wonderfully rewarding, even though it means I'm dreadfully busy, between that and maintaining a clean well-oiled house for my husband and children.

Welcome to the friendliest forum on the internet, friend.
You seem like you are on the right track with your Bible study and such, but I agree with Mo7, Kindergarten is where kids start to learn about drugs and atheism. They will be disobeying you and may start to lose interest in Bible study. Keep them at home and get your wife to homeschool them. Good luck Mr. Mansfield.

        Re: Greetings, Fellow Christians

Thank you ladies, for your welcome and also for your concern. My children attend one of the Godliest schools in Portland, where Jesus comes first and we come last. It is how it should be in all things. My adoring wife would home school the children if I asked her to, but I fear for the socialization that is sometimes lost with schooling in the home.

I will pray about this, however, because I do value the counsel of good Christian women when it comes to children.

I perhaps misspoke when I said my youngest would be the determining factor for our departure from this incredibly liberal city. I meant, actually, when this school year is over for my children since I don't consider kindergarten as something that couldn't be interrupted. Our home is on the market, but you wouldn't believe the people that have come to look at it. This town has strict anti-discrimination attitudes. My home has been a place of prayer and Bible study and I feel great pain when homosexual couples have a look see and declare that my Blake's bedroom would be a perfect one for chanting, for example.

Jennifer asked me to send her greetings to the ladies of the forum; she asked about the ages of your children, Mother of Seven. May God richly bless everyone as you enjoy the Lord's Day (which is every day, or should be).

        May Christ be honored always,
        Doc

Doc, You can tell your good wife that I have 5 boys (James aged 14, Peter aged 11, twins Michael and Mark aged 9 and little Matty (Matthew) aged 7)and 2 girls (aged 10 and 5). And just when I thought my child-bearing days were over, the Lord has blessed me again - with a new little one due in October.

            Dear Doc;

I am so sorry to hear that you are living in the jaws of the beast, aka the Canada of California, Oregon. How many times have you been forced into sodomy? How many marijuana cigarettes do you have to smoke to avoid prison?
