God used the written form to communicate His Important Message. Perhaps it is acceptable to have someone read it to you but if you can't understand written words I doubt that speaking them would make much difference because whom He did foreknow He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

ROMANS 8 is really quite specific. Are you suggesting that God employed a medium to communicate His Call to those predestined for Salvation which they could not understand? Certainly God knew which people He'd be calling and chose a form of communication we could all understand.
