    Hello!

    I'm Kdizzle, hoping for good bible discussion. I'm not part of any church. My favorite bible verse is 2 Peter 3:8. It expresses ambiguity.
    2 Peter 3:8 - With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day.

    Re: Hello!

    Well hello dear, and welcome to our friendly forums! Why have you not aligned yourself with a good Bible Believing Church yet? There are so many good ones to choose from! Certainly, you could Home Church. It's like Home Schooling, only you study the Holy Scriptures for Spiritual Discernment alone, and leave the history, geography, and math lessons for Monday - Friday.

    Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

        Don't be silly. There's always time to study the Word. Why, there's no more important thing you can do with your time!

            If you read the Holy Bible with an open heart and prayerful attitude, you'd find that in faith, the LORD can provide you with far more than any job salary can. Jesus tells us to not put our efforts into the comforts of this life, but to focus on the next:

            Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
            But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
            For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

            Matthew 6:19-21

            Where your heart is will determine where you spend eternity, and you have to admit, 70 or 80 years on earth, spending the hours in pursuit of security and fostering healthy relationships with loved ones simply cannot compare to spending an eternity in the presence of the LORD!

              I'm not living comfortably; it's enough to get by. How am I to live off of the bible? I can't eat the holy word of God. I do my best to pray daily, and read the bible when i can. Until I work less, it's the best I can do for Christ without sinking into poverty and claiming welfare. I appreciate your concern Mrs. Etheldreda.

                I gather you haven't gotten around to reading Matthew 6.

                (Matthew 6:31-33) "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

                Worry less about your creature comforts and more about your Eternal Salvation.

                Yours in Christ,

                Z. Smyth

                  You're living comfortable enough to use a computer so you must not be at work now. You probably have a cell phone and cable tv. Young people today don't know the value of hard work, they only know the value of getting hand outs. Those who do take the time they have to read the Holy Bible, I mean really read it, not just glance at the words to find comforting passages here and there, but really understand what it says, will be blessed beyond their expectations. The Word of God assures us these things:

                  But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly;
                  and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
                  2 Corinthians 9:6

                  Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts,
                  if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing,
                  that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
                  Malachi 3:10

                  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.
                  For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
                  Luke 6:38

                  This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it;
                  for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.
                  Joshua 1:8

                  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
                  But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
                  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
                  Psalm 1:1-3

                  If you know God and Trust Him, how can you not Trust His Word to be True?

                    No arguments there. However, to say no young people work hard is a bit of a straw man, myself and plenty of others work twelve hour days with hardly a day off. Computers and phones are becoming, if not yet, a necessity of modern life.
