    Hello and some questions :)

Hello all, my name is Hope. I stumbled across this forum and have a few questions about your doctrine that I hope you can clear up for me. But introductions first. I was saved at an early age (five or six I believe). Old enough to remember the circumstances and exactly where my mom pulled over the car to explain salvation to me, but still young enough that I didn't REALLY understand the commitment I was making. We had been learning about the steps to salvation (admit that you're a sinner, believe in Christ's sacrifice on the cross for sins, and confess your sins and invite Christ into your heart to purify you and make you his). Growing up in a Christian home, I had always known and believed what Jesus did for my sins, but at that moment I realized that I had never actually accepted him into my heart. Fast forward several years, I had a falling out with my parents and my church and did some wandering. I was eventually called back into the church thru the love of my parents and my pastor. Since then I have rededicated my life to Christ and have striven to live in a way that glorifies him. My favorite verse is actually the verse which my name comes from, Job 11:18. "Thou wilt have courage because there is Hope."

And now for my questions. I am keeping an open mind here and am asking out of genuine curiosity, trying to understand your organization.
    1. What are your views on adoption?
    2. What are your views of rape?
    3. What are your views on acceptable clothing for women?
    4. Where do you find the grounds for your racism OUTSIDE the old testament. (Referring to Phillip and the ethopian eunuch.)
    5. What are your beliefs concerning tobacco and alcohol?
    6. What are your views concerning women working outside the home?
    7. Divorce? (In cases of infidelity)
    8. Contemporary music?

Thank you for your time. I hope to have an informational dialogue with you.

Well hello, and welcome to our friendly forums! You'll find True Christians™ have the exact same views as the Almighty Lord does, as revealed in the Holy Bible. Is there a particular issue you're confused about?

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

A thousand apologies. If I in any way sounded disrespectful I apologize profusely. Sometimes things sound better in my head than in actual practice. Thank you for the link. I shall check it out and find the rest of my answers on other forum posts. I attend Westwood community church, a church plant of wooddale Baptist church. I prefer to use the king James version because I love the poetry and beauty of the words and phrasing. Thank you for your patience.

I and my family have been hurt on several of those issues with other churches we have been with (I am adopted and the product of a rape) and my dad is divorced because his ex wife was unfaithful. My mother was unable to have children of her own so that is why I was adopted. Other questions because I'm interested in where LBC stands on them.

I suppose I am wondering from what I have read if LBC focuses on justification by law and works (as in the old testament) which would have forced my birth mother to marry her rapist, and shamed my adoptive mother for being barren, or the grace of the new testament in which Christ did not condemn people for things they could not control (such as disability) but rather condemned false teaching and hypocrisy. Forgive me if it seems that I am accusing lbc of hypocrisy. I'm just trying to learn and apply my own poor knowledge of scriptures.

I forgive you, dear. Yes, you do have a lot to learn. When you read the Holy Bible, you must read it in context. When Jesus spoke of the Scriptures, He never said they were null and void. In fact, He said just the opposite (Matthew 5:17). When you read the Old Testament, you read of Jesus, King of Kings, making all these commands. Why in the world would He go to the trouble of making a bunch of rules if He knew He was going to remove them later? That doesn't make sense.

                  Re: Hello and some questions

I do understand that. Although, forgive me for plainly speaking my mind, many of the opinions on here quite frankly offend me. I have dealt with crushing depression, have fallen in and out of self harm over the years and have also dealt with being quite suicidal for the time. (I spent some time in a psych ward after a suicide attempt. I can only say that my life has been drastically improved by so called emo bands who have encouraged me to not give up no matter how difficult life may seem. (Both Christian and secular.) Also, calling the man the victim in a rape just seems plain wrong to me. A friend of mine was raped by her boyfriend's brother. She was dressed modestly and in no way led him on. Should she take it as a 'compliment" that he couldn't keep control of himself? Christ did not portray the man as the victim when he said "if a man looks lustfully at a woman he has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Now hold on just a darned minute! Where do you get off calling us racists? Your intro was going along perfectly nice, and then just when I let my guard down, WHAMMO! I get blindsided from out of left field by this crazy accusation of racism!

I can't remember the last time I felt so insulted!

Ok, 1 I said racist in one post. Which was my first post. And you deny it? LBC condemns "interracial" marriage. Now, seeing as we all come from one bloodline (Adam and Eve) I find little grounds for LBC's stance on whites only go to heaven. And it was not intended to offend, I merely called it as it appeared to me in the posts I had read.

That wasn't much of an apology. I think I'm even more upset than I was before.

No, we are not racists! If you want to experience racism, go visit your nearest welfare office and meet the droves of black and brown people the Democrats keep in a state of infantile dependency!

Even if you've only read the first book of the Bible you'd know Adam is the only person created in God's image.

As far as your claim that lots of white people are on welfare, well that sounds pretty racist to me.

Oh boy, you really have drunk the liberal racist Kool-Aid, haven't you?

We judge people exactly when and why God says we should judge them, and I promise you, a person's melanin content never enters into the equation. The word "melanin" doesn't appear even once in the Bible, because God doesn't care about it, and neither do we.

I'll bet you think melanin is the reason black people are black, don't you?

Too bad the Bible doesn't agree with you on that.
