In the beginning I was so angry after reading this thread. In fact I was outraged!!

Then I thought, I'll have to try to reason with these people, and so here I write you again, out of a calmer and sincere heart. I have no beef to settle here, other than trying to make some of you open your eyes a little bit.

I would consider it brave and fair that you post this letter for your community to read. If you do not tolerate being "spoken back to", then by all means dump me in the trash.

You should know beforehand though, that I have a genuine wish to bridge the gap, and extend a hand to you all.

I must admit I am shocked by the level of mis-informed hatred and stupidity that dominates this thread.

Danish equals mentally retarded? What kind of people would write something like that?! Surely not people of God who, presumeably, have an even greater stake in being tolerant towards people - how else to win anyone over to your religion? By threat of damnation?! Nice!

By generalising as you do in this thread, and by making these absurd, perverse and demented statements about an entire nation, you do yourselves no good at all.

Denmark is one of the very few countries in this world, who are standing by the USA in the fight against terrorism - just today two of our soldiers fell in Afghanistan, victims of yet another roadside bomb. Our casualty rate equals yours, but thanks anyway.

It would suit you to bear in mind, that illiteracy is a far larger issue in the

He may have been gay, and I suppose in your community that amounts to the same thing, but no suffiecient proof of this has ever been found, and in the end it is inconsequential whatever his sexual orientation might have been. What bearing could that possibly have on anything?

Personally I do not believe in (any) God. I do not dispute Gods for a fact - I simply recognize that there is more to the world than I may be able to percieve, and so I keep my mind open. Call me an agnostic.

What I do belive, however, is that you should be very very cautious around people who claim to know the truth about... well, anything really..

Because they invairably dont. There are so many variants of the Christian faith, and I wish to respect them all - or at least the ones who will respect me back. It is interesting to observe each division forge ahead like theirs is the only thruth. They all go by their specific interpretation of the Bible, and they are all blind to anything but their own specifics.

It resounds with hollowness when some such people start ranting about how those who do not share their exact opinion of how things are, will be killed an tortured in Hell and so on and so forth.

This is the rant of fundamentalists, and we hear it from all parts of the world. Fundamental muslims preaching death to the infidels. fundamental Christians preaching death - even to other Christians, who worship the same God as you do, albeit in different ways.

It seems not very neighbourly of you.

Oh well. I'm probably speaking to no avail, and I doubt you would even post this response.

However let me finish this, by assuring each and every one of you that God does indeed not Hate Denmark. Quite the contrary.

We have an exellent welfare system here that looks after even the weakest in our society. We have free medical treatment for everyone, rich and poor. We have free and fair trade, and our stocks are soaring. We're by comparison far the happiest western society, and we have equal rights for everyone, regardless of color, race, sexual orientation and creed. We have a national church that is open to everyone who wishes to embrace God.
Our air is clean, our land is fair, and our people are strong and well educated - much more so than citizens in the US. We have no guns, and therefore very few killings - also extremely unlike the US, who has a sad history of domestic related killing rates that runs in 5 figures. In fact, even the weather here is mild and largely pleasant. We have no hurricanes and no twisters, and floodings are rare, and moderate. We pay high taxes, but we also have high income, and we pay our taxes happily knowing that this ensures no one is left behind.

Our government is a paliament, democratically elected, and everyone can run for office - not just the filthy rich.

It is not us who are "punished" by storms and floodings and the like.. It was not us who was attacked on 9/11. It was not Denmark who was the victims of the two largest oil spills in history. It was not our President who had a BJ in the Oval Office. It was not our President who lead the world to war in the middle east on falsified information about weapons of mass destruction, so you tell me who God hates?

I seems to me, that - provided of course there is a God, in the sense that y'all seems to be convinced there is - that such a God would never be hateful. As I child I was taught that God is forgiving. I do however suspect that he'd hate all the fools who think themselves clever enough to understand his intentions and workings... I believe these things are not for man to know. At least not yet.

So, here I am - writing to you all from Denmark. I am not a sodomist. I have never been sodomized. I was raised by loving and loyal parents. I wish no harm to anyone. I wish enlightenment for everyone - not religious enlightenment, but simply for everyone to open their eyes and grasp the fact that we're all in the same boat together.

Surely there are more than enough hard-liners in this world. People of no compromise.

This worlds population is one great family, and we need to console our differences and start being tolerant towards each other, if we're to survive and prosper. There will be plenty challenges in the future without having to contend with aggresive and intolerant religius fanatics.

Funny how it then goes into a long list of laws that are punishable by death, including sodomy. Proof that you are picking and choosing what you wish to read. When God says Thou Shalt Not Kill, it's for us laymen and that we should not be taking the laws into our own hands or kill out of anger. However if a person has been brought before a (Righteous) judge and found guilty, then capital punishment is okay. It's also alright to kill someone in battle. However let me finish this, by assuring each and every one of you that God does indeed not Hate Denmark. Quite the contrary.

We have an exellent welfare system here that looks after even the weakest in our society. We have free medical treatment for everyone, rich and poor. We have free and fair trade, and our stocks are soaring. We're by comparison far the happiest western society, and we have equal rights for everyone, regardless of color, race, sexual orientation and creed. We have a national church that is open to everyone who wishes to embrace God.

Welfare supports drug dealers and prostitution. Free medical care for everybody means no medical care for anybody. You are happy because you are simple minded. You national church sends souls to Hell.

Our air is clean, our land is fair, and our people are strong and well educated - much more so than citizens in the US. We have no guns, and therefore very few killings - also extremely unlike the US, who has a sad history of domestic related killing rates that runs in 5 figures. In fact, even the weather here is mild and largely pleasant. We have no hurricanes and no twisters, and floodings are rare, and moderate. We pay high taxes, but we also have high income, and we pay our taxes happily knowing that this ensures no one is left behind.

The reason you have no murders in Daneland is because you have nothing to fight for.

Our government is a paliament, democratically elected, and everyone can run for office - not just the filthy rich.

Here we can elect whoever we want, but we are smart enough not to hire idiots that can't make enough to support themselves.

It is not us who are "punished" by storms and floodings and the like.. It was not us who was attacked on 9/11. It was not Denmark who was the victims of the two largest oil spills in history. It was not our President who had a BJ in the Oval Office.
