Re: WIVES TAKE NOTE: A proper day's cooking!
It has long been my opinion that anyone wishing to obtain a driver's license should have to demonstrate the ability to locate the basic parts of their car - motor, transmission, battery, carburetor, radiator, know how to check fluid levels and where to add fluids, change the bulbs and fuses, jump-start a dead battery, and change a tire. I'm not saying that everyone who wishes to drive should have to be a certified mechanic, but if you're going to pilot a machine weighing a couple of tons and capable of attaining speeds of 100 mph, you should know at least the basics of how it works, and what to do when something goes wrong.
There would be a lot less women stranded and rendered helpless by something as simple as a flat tire.
