  • Sunshine Ice Cream Pie Recipe

Hey Ladies, I have found a great Ice Cream Pie recipe. It is fantastic. My brothers get sick of warm pie sometimes, so I thought if I could cool it down a bit, that would be great.

1 pint vanilla ice cream, softened
1 (9 inch) graham cracker crust
    1 pint orange sherbet, softened
    2 cups whipped topping
1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges
    2 tablespoons coconut, toasted
    1. Spread ice cream into crust; spread sherbet over ice cream. Freeze for at least 3 hours. Top with whipped topping. Cover and freeze. At least 30 minutes before serving, remove pie from freezer; arrange oranges on top and sprinkle with coconut.

I'm a little uncertain about the whipped topping. Is it approved for consumption? I thought it appeared on the list of banned foods, but I may be mistaken. With or without, it sounds like the sort of thing I'll ask my future wife (identity unknown yet) to make on a regular basis.

This recipe sounds so good, I am going to risk the Pastoral infraction and make it, whipped topping or no! (Though maybe a sweetened meringe (sp?) could be substituted...I'll have to think about it.)

          Thanks, Miss Girl!

I love getting new recipes...I'll post a cookie one here tomorrow.
