Honestly, you will gain like 20 pounds after that meal and I've studied nutrition!

    That's my girl!

I like the way she dips my biscuits in bacon drippings, then feeds it to me one morsel at a time.

Your closed minded insular perspective has failed you once again:

Pecan-Brown Sugar & Bacon Ice Cream

Excerpted from Seduced by Bacon: Recipes & Lore About America's Favorite Indulgence by Joanna Pruess (The Lyons Press, 2006). Copyright 2006 by Joanna Pruess.

    Makes 1 1/2 quarts
Here's a delicious surprise: tiny bits of salty bacon are a wonderful addition to this creamy dessert. Maple-cured or applewood-smoked bacon seem to be ideal choices here.
    • 3 cups heavy cream
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1 1/4 cups firmly packed dark brown sugar
    • 4 egg yolks
    • 1 cup chopped pecans
    • 1 pound bacon, cooked until very crisp, blotted on paper towels and finely chopped (about 1/2 cup)

I have a question for the Pastors.

Sirs, while I want to ensure that my Daddy (and when my man gets back from Iraq, him) eat a proper man's meal, is it proper, do y'all think, if I were to cook plenty of manly steaks and meat dishes, but in a way that had low fat?

Is it proper for a True Christian lady to be concerned about the weight of her menfolk? Please do advise me here, I ain't sure if I should be punished for thinking of buying that George Foreman grill.

Snack before bed homemade hot chocolate and homemade pound cake
That diet sounds out of balance to me - at least one meal needs to have something that is grilled, preferably over mesquite.

Do the mashed potatoes at lunch have gravy on them?

Amen, Pastor Zeke and Sister Thumper. I just don't understand why some people cannot grasp the natural order of things as outlined in the Holy Bible.

Real Christian men go hunting and provide REAL meat for their families. Look at this buck, it will feed a family for a month! We'll have steaks and ribs, and other parts will go in the smokehouse to make some real mountain jerkey.

I have a man, and we take care of each other.

And I agree with you that venison is delicious.
