Thank you Brother DNow. If the FBI rumors are true, Donald traded many Deep State secrets with Saudi, North Korea and Russia to keep us safe. Meanwhile in the UK, it is peak BBC:

The Brits are obsessed with dogs right now. These corgis aren't the half of it, they keep going on and on about King Charles spaniels or something.
I was sinking deep in sin far from the peaceful shore,
      Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more;
But the Master of the Sea heard my despairing cry,
From the waters lifted me, now safe am I!

That country can't find True Christianity™ and the Queen could not find a real dog, one with actual legs. Simply a failed country.

          NEWS ALERT!
The mysterious Viking runes found in a landlocked US state

Did Vikings find their way to a remote part of Oklahoma? Some in a small community believe so, thanks to controversial runic carvings found in the area.

Not everyone is convinced though: "The veracity of the Heavener stone as a Viking artifact is problematic. The linguistic evidence is ambiguous. However, historical evidence from the 19th Century… strongly suggests the stone is a 19th-Century creation of a Scandinavian immigrant."

Because carvings made in stone can't be dated using traditional scientific methods, researchers look to contextual evidence, such as additional Viking artefacts or activity in the area; however, none has been found.

Despite that, fans of Viking lore come from all over the world to visit Heavener Runestone Park. "When I first started here five years ago, we had around 400 people a month; now we could have 2,000 people or more on a regular weekend."

No evidence may prove that they definitively did, but no evidence proves that they definitively didn't either.

Rediscovering America is a BBC Travel series that tells the inspiring stories of forgotten, overlooked or misunderstood aspects of the US
This looks like it might be a segment worth following. Those interested in mysterious Vikings, please also check out the Loch Ness monster on BBC Scotland.
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

Brother Dr. Toole, Sir, I observe that the sub-headline on your link begins:
Did Vikings find their way to a remote part of Oklahoma?
My father taught me, and my husband confirms this, that if a BBC headline ends with a question mark then the answer is generally "No".

If Texas (as an oil-rich theocracy) is the Saudi Arabia of the USA, then that makes Oklahoma our Yemen, a miserable little dirt-poor pissant shithole. Lovely people though, they all like rodeos and vote Republican.

This is proof that white people are the real Native Americans. So can we finally stop mollycoddling the Indians? We gave them land, we gave them elementary school educations, we gave them land use acknowledgements, we let them build casinos--dens of iniquity, all--and they're still not satisfied. It's time they adopted Christianity instead of their pagan gods (most of whom are fish or wild animals) and became American citizens. If they don't like that, then they can get their drunken, lazy behinds back to wherever they came from.

The Red Man is a most enigmatic breed. The Bible is mysteriously silent on the indigenous savages of the Americas, so they're mostly absent from Christian theology (unless you're a Mormon heretic). What is clear however is that they were really deep into demon worship. Jesus died for their sins, and it was over 1,500 years until any of them knew it. The fact that they all started dying and their "civilizations" collapsing immediately upon the arrival of the White Man is solid evidence that God wanted them out of the way, and that He did not consider them the owners of the land but rather squatters.

Looks like Boris has become the leader we all hoped he would be - look at him leading everyone, calling for things. Brexit must've been a success after all. China, Russia, the UN, NATO and all immigrants will be jumping to attention shortly.
Not to be outdone by Boris The Poorest, Rishi the Richest, leader of the free world (excl. EU, US, India, China, Russia) has started calling for things.

Is this the new model of leadership in the UK? Call the help to solve problems. I say, Cummings, let's put something out on the dratted Middle East situation, once and for all - I want you to put out a call for peace. And while you're at it, bring toasted muffins and cocoa for the cabinet. Call nanny to tuck us in and read a story!

Expected to read something about tiffin, leaving disappointed.

full disclosure: as a North American, has no idea what "tiffin" is

So, did BoJo actually do anything besides call for others to do stuff and throw parties? For goodness sake the man called himself a conservative! Shouldn't he have been trying to destroy the British federal government, undermining democracy, abolishing taxation, replacing the British Constitution with the KJV 1611 Bible, eliminating gun control regulations, and building a wall on Britain's southern border with Poland and making the Polacks pay for it? Those people don't even know the meaning of the word "conservative."

I see that as a wonderful instance of Grace. You pointed out the time involved, during which God waited until they heard The Good News and had the opportunity to accept Redemption. In the event, mostly, they rejected Him when all He wanted was to love them. He could have sent calamity at any time but waited yet still they didn't want Him. What choice did He have?

I have to say, with all the other problems that the UK has, the gun problem saddens me the most.

How can people be expected to feel safe in their homes, at school and work and while shopping at their quaint little stores or stopping for a pint at their even quainter little pubs if they don't have guns?

It really is no wonder that their murder rate is so high and they need old ladies and fussy Belgians and hobbyist detectives on hand to deal with all the poisoners and head conkers and stabbers.

If the ordinary person in the UK had access to lightweight, easy-to-use, military-grade rifles things would be so much more stable throughout their troubled land.

I don't know, Sister Handmaiden. There are benefits, though, for those of us like my dear husband who do have permission to carry weapons, in the sense that nobody but a criminal is likely to shoot first - or shoot back, for that matter. And we naturally have more than enough perfectly legal rifles in the various gun-safes strategically located around the estate to arm every member of the family, should the need arise.

Obviously my children are home-schooled, so no problems there. This also allows ample opportunity for gun class. As Matthew says, any child over the age of 6 who can't take out a squirrel lurking a tree at 50 yards, or a skylark in flight, is no child of his!
