Jeremiah 6:21 Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.
Best wishes for the people in Ukraine.

Re: Beijing Winter Olympics
He could have been referring to "toes curling" an expression used for describing something else I can't recall at the moment.
In summary then, can I assume granite curling is not now nor ever has been popular in Athens? That would suggest it has no military function. Perhaps laying mines on frozen waters – once they get far enough out they sink but I wouldn't want to be a sweeper. Does the Aegean freeze?

Re: Beijing Winter Olympics
Curling is one of many sports that started out ok but got taken over by homers:
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

Re: Beijing Winter Olympics
Whoever chose that fabric needs their eyes tested.
What's with the sweepers? I gather there's some sort of target, like lawn bowls. You'd roll your ball or slide your stone along and see who got closest; in "crown green" bowls played on a domed lawn there could be several players coming from different directions but clearly that wouldn't work on ice.
The equivalent is therefore playing (bowls) with magnetic balls and having one (or two?) assistants running along in front of the (rolling) ball with big magnets.

I'm suspicious curlers are all doped up. They look so frantic when they are sweeping. The rock throwers have glazed look. Are they being tested or is that reserved for just figure skaters?Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.
