  • Jimmy Carter Puts Women's Feelings Over God's Words

After more than 60 years together, Jimmy Carter has announced himself at odds with the Southern Baptist Church -- and he's decided it's time they go their separate ways. Via Feministing, the former president called the decision "unavoidable" after church leaders prohibited women from being ordained and insisted women be "subservient to their husbands." Said Carter in an essay in The Age:
At its most repugnant, the belief that women must be subjugated to the wishes of men excuses slavery, violence, forced prostitution, genital mutilation and national laws that omit rape as a crime. But it also costs many millions of girls and women control over their own bodies and lives, and continues to deny them fair access to education, health, employment and influence within their own communities.
    And, later:
The truth is that male religious leaders have had -- and still have -- an option to interpret holy teachings either to exalt or subjugate women. They have, for their own selfish ends, overwhelmingly chosen the latter. Their continuing choice provides the foundation or justification for much of the pervasive persecution and abuse of women throughout the world.
    Bible boring? Nonsense!

I see the source of his confusion. God does not give anyone an option to interpret His Word.
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

Obviously political correctness is more important for him than Salvation(c) through Jesus Christ. What a slap in the face to God! How old is that guy now? 85? Any minute he's gonna teeter over and be on board the Hell Train. Praise Jesus!

What a strange time to decide to spit in Christ's loving face and sign on with satan.

Not that I ever believed that Carter was a Christian...
        Who Will Jesus Damn?

Look, it's just common knowledge that women are the weaker sex. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Women are soft, gentle, and beautiful and they need strong men to look out for them so that other men, bears, and vikings/Huns don't steal them. In my humble opinion, having certain restrictions in exchange for such protection is worth it. That's why whenever I'm out walking around at night and I see a young lady walking by herself I'll follow her to make sure no one bothers her, but I'm always careful not to be seen.

I hope Jimmy Carter will enjoy hell with his "buddies"-- Satan, John Wayne Gacy, Hitler, Darwin, Jeffrey Dahmer, the Kennedys, and Lucille Ball. And I can only hope that Mike Connors (TV's "Mannix") joins them soon!!

I used to like Jimmy Carter. No - I doubt his "spine". I certainly hope my man never decides to got he way of feministing. I agree that women are the weaker sex and it's a fair trade for the protection and guidance. Perhaps Carter's gettin' a touch of the mentals in his ripe age.

@Confedchick: I feel sorry for you. Don't let these people brainwash you into believeing that you dont have the potential to do anything you want. You can be your own woman without subjecting and condemming yourself their their biases and sexism. You are equal to me and every other guy here... dont let them degrade you and dont let yourself believe that you are lesser then they are for being born a woman.

Ha! Carters a hack. What a limp wristed weakling, no wonder no one respects him and he never accomplished anything after he cheated his way into office.
God bless America, the Second Amendment and the Constitution. God bless the United States Marine Corps and all who fight for Jesus in third world cess pools. God bless the GOP and all they stand for, Truth, Honesty and the American people. God bless Landover Baptist Church and all True Christians™ the world over. Curses to our Muslim President, his failure is our Salvation.

Why are you so against us fulfulling our God ordered mission? I personally can't wait to raise a family and hopefully the next 7 years of my life are dedicated simply to giving birth, taking care of my children, cooking and keeping a tidy household.
I love God with all my heart and only wish to live every day of my life for Him, according to his will and word

                      unEnlightened -
I thank you for the words of support, sir but I don't want to be an equal. I feel like I have a purpose if I wait on the menfolk hand and foot. K works so hard around the house all day long that - by the time I get home from the office - all he wants is to relax, watch the news, drink his beer with his feet propped up (since he's been on them all day) and smell the pleasant odor of freshly cooking food for supper that I am preparing in the kitchen. Mr. unEnlightened - if I were an equal - I would be expected to do heavy lifting, know how to do drywall, know how to run electric, and so forth.
He takes care of me so all I need to do is look pretty, ensure his comfort, and be ready for his every need.
It's so much easier being a girl. I no longer have to think - I just do.

Yes, women are just as strong as men, and can handle the same pressures men can. In fact, they can do it better.

Why, just look at Sarah Palin's smashing successes! She's never quit nor backed down, and is the perfect example of why Godly Christian women should be in positions of political power. The stability! The articulate speaking! The cohesive policy statements! The utter lack of corruption! The ability to set aside personal gripes and family matters, and focus on being a strong leader for her constituents!

                        Oh, wait . . .

A further outrage from Carter is his work with Habitat for Humanity.

Often, I have seen him working as a carpenter building homes for the poor and indigent (and frequently, the 'shifless') and I believe this is a deliberate invocation of Christ's profession (prior to His ministry) and an invitation for the feeble minded to favorably compare Carter with Christ.

Considering his lie-beral views (Carter, not Christ) this is a subtle abomination, but one that did not fool me.
Jud 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are unGodly among them of all their unGodly deeds which they have unGodly committed, and of all their hard [speeches] which unGodly sinners have spoken against him.
