Seattle Bank Worker Canned After Thwarting, Chasing Would-Be Robber - cbs2.com

How can companies get away with this kind of baloney? If they let people know how easy it is to rob a bank un-molested, it's going to get even more common.

When I go into the bank I check everyone out. One of those people could be a bank robber. If I see one, I'm tackling the guy and knocking his lights out.

I'm sick of all our hero Dirty Harrys and Travis Bicklers getting the shaft of the system. There were no cops there. Someone had to take initiative. Is this how much society has devolved? That it's "wrong" to somehow have a pair a balls and stop someone from kicking a little butt and making the world a better place?

Obviously you people have never employed anybody. While that disobedient twerp deserted his post, customers were going unserved. Besides, if employees are allowed to take initiate like this, you never know what's next. One moment they're chasing down a thief, next they're scouting the computer records for evidence of financial irregularities related to the tax-exempt status of certain organizations.

Now, Brother Jeb, that is simply not true. I am a very wealthy individual (thanks to Jesus!) and have employed roughly 100 people over the course of my life. Mostly gardeners, maids, butlers, chaffeurs, etc. This young boy deserves a medal for his heroic efforts. I am sure some bank customers could wait an extra couple minutes while he apprehends a (most likely) negro suspect until the cops arrive. We need to look at what is important: Keeping our streets safe and nabbing crooks trumps customer service at the bank.

Based on the banks logic for firing this fine young man, I assume in a few years, when banks no longer have any tellers and it is all ATM's, a robber will simply walk up to one and demand all the machines money. The ATM will dutifully respond and spit out all the cash.

I think tellers should have .357 Magnums bullet proof glass with gun slots. Four to the head. Tile the lobby for easy wash down.

The solution is for everybody to carry guns everywhere at all times. Let's see criminals trying to pull stuff like this when every other customer at that bank has a gun pointed to his head.
