  • Pastor threatens son with gun

".............The younger man told police his father pulled out a handgun when they met at the church to discuss church attendance. He told officers his father pointed the gun at him and threatened to kill him, his wife and family......."

I'm unsure as to why this is even newsworthy. Like many of us on these forums, the good pastor in question is a good friend and is only exercising appropriate action to ensure a full church and full coffers. Having his son set a bad example like that would enrage even the meekest of us. Anyway - those of us who know the good Pator have been thrreatened with his pistol more than once, am I right? There's nothing to get too upset about here..
The devil, whose business is to pervert the truth, mimics the exact circumstance of the Divine Sacraments. He baptises his believers and promises forgiveness of sins...he celebrates the oblation of bread, and brings in the symbol of the resurrection. Let us therefore acknowledge the craftiness of the devil, who copied certain things of those that be divine."

Just another example of breaking a Commandment. The idiot did not honor his father. He deserved to be Pistol whipped.

I do not know. I was taught that if the gun comes out of concealment , it gets used. I would of let one rip, at least in the thigh or buttocks. You have to let people know you mean business.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Consider the alternative. The Pastor ignores the transgressions of his son and lets him wallow in Godlessness. Then, the son is killed by God for ignoring His commandments and he ends up in Hell.

It would seem to me at that point, that the father/Pastor would have been guilty of abuse or at least depraved indifference. Letting someone come to harm when you could have easily prevented it from occurring is a punishable offense in this country.

If I was straying from the Lord, I would hope that there would be at least one True Christian™ man who be willing to go the extra mile for my immortal soul. An eternity with God is certainly worth a few moments with a loaded gun pointed in your face.
