Not at all. However, it's a sad reality that modern women are wilful and go out from time to time dressed like sluts and unchaperoned. So they get raped every now and then but it seems to be a risk they are happy to take.

At times like these it's important to refer to a moral framework to know what to do and the Holy Bible is there to rescue us from making rash decisions based on arbitrary moral frameworks that are not divinely inspired. And the Bible couldn't really be any clearer for ways to deal with this.

Sometimes, sadly for a father who spent all his time working towards the day when he could finally get a dowry as compensation for having had a daughter to raise, the girl has to be killed for the good of the community as a warning to other girls wanting to be wanton.

Sometimes the girl is damaged goods but it's important that the young man lives up to his financial obligations and compensates her father and takes responsibility for her by marrying her and removing further financial burdens. It's hardly fair on her father for him to be saddled with her for the rest of her life for another man's actions.

All of this is neatly laid out in the wonderful moral reference guide of the Bible. Christians everywhere use it for all manner of decisions but you cherry pick the nice bits at your peril.
