There was a time when people were GRATEFUL that dangerous criminals were removed from the streets. But now this guy's getting a TWO MILLION DOLLAR SETTLEMENT just because the criminal justice system was protecting him from himself.

Hasn't he ever heard the term "You Do the Crime, You Do the Time"? What is wrong with people today, where they think they can get off scott-free from everything??

Man spends 2 years in solitary after DWI arrest

A New Mexico man who said he was forced to pull his own tooth while in solitary confinement because he was denied access to a dentist has been awarded $22 million due to inhumane treatment by New Mexico's Dona Ana County Jail.

Stephen Slevin was arrested in August of 2005 for driving while intoxicated, then thrown in jail for two years. He was in solitary at Dona Ana County Jail for his entire sentence and basically forgotten about and never given a trial, he told NBC station KOB.com Tuesday night.

"[Jail guards were] walking by me every day, watching me deteriorate," Slevin said. "Day after day after day, they did nothing, nothing at all, to get me any help."

Slevin's medical problems extended beyond his dental issues, he said. His toenails started curling around his foot because they were so long, he told KOB.com. And his countless requests to see a doctor for depression medication were ignored, he said.

"When he gets put in the jail," Slevin's attorney, Matt Coyte, told msnbc.com, "They think he's suicidal, and they put him in a padded cell for three days. But never give him any treatment."

They also never gave him a trial, Coyte said. And Slevin never saw a judge during his time in confinement.

After three days in a padded cell, jail guards transferred Slevin into solitary confinement without explanation.

"Their policy is to then just put them in solitary" if they appear to have mental health issues, Coyte told msnbc.com.

Liberals are always rewarding the dregs of society for the most irresponsible behavior. If you lose your job, they give you free money. If you refuse to pray and get sick, they want you to have health care. If you have kids that will starve to death because you are wasting your discretionary income on essentials instead of investing it, they use government funds that could be used for the Godly War on Terror, to feed your bastard children.

So some mentally retarded person pulls out his tooth? Hello! Those are for chewing food, not bartering for smokes! But the liberals reward him. I suppose they would pay him $50,000,000 for a finger, and a quarter billion just to see him cut off his phallus, so they could use it in their Vodou ceremonies.

I am absolutely outraged after hearing about this story. Why is this terrorist only given a measly two years in solitary when it should've been a open-and-shut death penalty case? Driving drunk is terrorism. He was terrorizing people on the road. And why is everyone surprised he was held without a trial? That's what we passed the PATRIOT Act and NDAA bill for! Trials are simply a waste of taxpayer money. Why waste money on trials when you know someone is guilty already? Why else would the police have arrested them? DUH!

It's this simple: When you do a terrorist act like take a bomb on a plane, or drive drunk, or download copyrighted music, you forfeit all rights as a human being and deserve life imprisonment (or preferably) the death penalty for your heinous terrorist actions!
