    Re: Toad to visit Ur

And he's kissed an idol. What it is I have no idea, neither does he from the look of things, but it's an idol so he'll kiss it. Probably a sun idol.

Anticipating this, God had already smitten the Romish ambassador with His currently preferred plague a few days earlier.

With the pope himself now being poverty, as he expects us to believe just because he doesn't live in palatial apartments or make use of assorted castles (but has he sold them? of course not) happily he was able to fund this jaunt by auctioning off one of his Lamborghinis; yes, there was just enough left over from the grossly inflated sale price. It had two gold stripes.

Thanks for the comment. Yes, idol kissing requires ever new idols to kiss I guess. Many such cults originated in Babylon but God did explain to one group (descended from someone having the drive to get out from Ur and go somewhere else, anywhere, whom God directed and to whom God made a promise) NOT to make idols. The LORD God Almighty had been known from the time of Adam's grandson and Eve already knew who God was from at least as early as her conversation in Eden; Noah both walked and talked with Him.

Genesis 4:25-26 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew. And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.

Genesis 3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

Genesis 6:9-13 Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God ... And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me...

So many people call themselves "Christians" but don't seem to care about what God has to say. Some things are unimportant: whether I prefer tea or coffee; mint sauce or redcurrant jelly? maybe camomile rather than toast for breakfast. Heretics come up with rules of their own about tea and coffee and stuff, we know that, but there's nothing in The Bible. Others find cultic symbols acceptable, a statue maybe or some temple activities EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED BY GOD FOR ALL TIME. Many of these started off in Babylon, perhaps Abram had seen them in Ur, so to rake up some more that would be one place to look.

To do that you'd have to know what you were doing.

There it is again, "harmony between religious groups" - like when is the last time that has happened? No doubt that Bergoglio wants to put up some windmills and solar panels with his visit.

Most of this really started with Pope John XXIII in his 1962 Second Vatican Council (Vatican II) with attempts to "modernize" the "church" - like Madison Avenue marketing making a product that we all want to buy. Bergiglio, in the name of "multicultrialism", has taken it to new heights - seeking out all the remaining primitive barefoot savage "cultures" remaining on the face of the earth for idolatry that Jesus hates.

Yes, news filters through quite slowly for the pontiff. Merely existing as "pope" or "papa" (Spanish, Italian, etc.) is a direct contradiction of Christ in Matthew 23:9 but in this case I was thinking of his taking the opportunity to make some explicit statement. No doubt he'll be performing various actions, kissing things, embracing things, adoring things. Anyway I'm including a rail map (extract from) showing the region so perhaps if he arrives by train he can start showing off at the station, unless the Persians have blown it up. The Euphrates I've done in blue to make it clearer than the large map, linked by clicking the blue map.

One area I'll be paying attention to is how he treats God's account of Abraham and Ishmael. For those rejecting Christ and the sacrifice He became for us, foreshadowed by Abraham's willingness to destroy Isaac in response to God's command which was preemptively curtailed, how can there be any remedy for sin?

II Corinthians 5:18-21 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

For whom will this pope be an ambassador?

Is that a trick question? The answer "Contradict Jesus" is basically "any/all of the above," so it's always correct.

Ur, huh? I thought the American troops took care of that abomination long ago!

One of the greatest wonders of civilisation, and probably the world's most ancient structure - the Sumerian city of Ur in southern Iraq - has been vandalised by American soldiers and airmen, according to aid workers in the area.
They claim that US forces have spray-painted the remains with graffiti and stolen kiln-baked bricks made millennia ago.

Noted extortion racketeer, Frank "the Liar" Bergoglio, has announced his intention to visit Ur. There will be many opportunities for him there and elsewhere in The Former Babylon. Top of his list will be to do anything explicitly condemned in The Bible, a book he claims to follow and presumably has read but which he contradicts at every opportunity. Which of the options above do readers think he will embrace first?
