Our diligence has slipped. It seems a little late in the year for burning bird houses. Had it been around the April – July time, complete, errant bird families could have been eradicated wholesale. My great fear is that, of those that have nested in such places, the chicks will hatch with bird houses imprinted on their brains and see them as future suitable nesting sites; those feathered purveyors of disease will then attempt to enter and nest in real houses.

Good point, Brother Ezekiel. City employees went through backyards pulling down birdhouses and nests if they saw them.

I must admit we did not have the full cooperation with our citizens. Some put the little ugle houses up is hidden locations. Others knew the location of nests but did not report them.

Keeping up the program will require more effort and cooperation.

I think I will supply these free of charge to any in Freehold that wish to help "the birds of the air have nests"

Only one per household unless you live within 50 feet of where a "Pastor" parks their car.

Oh the birds of the air will not find them scary, they just want have a nest in a nice dry place.

In San Francisco, they go way beyond providing houses for the birds. They actually provide the birds with bath-houses. You don't want to know what goes on in there.

We put the bird house removal program in place because of complaints about song bird noise. One of our Pastors complained.

San Francisco probably has no Preachers so they could care less. I would guess homers love to prance around naked in backyards while birds sing.
