Goth is a deplorable type of heathen culture that glorifies everything that is vile and unholy. The dictionary defines "Goth" as: A crude uncouth ill-bred person lacking culture or refinement. This pretty much sums up the Goth culture today. Goth glorifies things that are sick, nasty, improper, freakish, and downright demonic...

The Goth culture includes Emos/ punks/ Wiccan witches/ self-abusers/ thrashers/ grungers/ heavy metallers, et cetera. This includes the Marilyn Manson, AC/DC, Smashing Pumpkins, Van Halen and Ozzy Osbourne crowd as well.

Goth causes teenage girls to become whores, depresses kids to the point of cutting themselves, and turns otherwise normal kids into Columbine shooters. The Goth culture is obsessed with death and the darker side of life, which is clearly evidenced in Goth music. Goth is of the Devil.

Goth in itself is a mental illness, a sickness of the soul, mainly affecting teenagers in the same way as schizophrenia would, although to a greater extent. Its symptoms range from isolation and negativity to aggression and hate for humanity, depression, violent outbursts, low self esteem, self-loathing, self-harming and suicide. Many Goths turn to a life of crime to feed their addiction to drugs, sadism, violence and perversion.

There is a theme running through all these different types of gothic groups, and a common fashion and dress that all tribes of Goth wear. The clothing is usually dark and sinister looking, sometimes called the 'gothic uniform.' Goth women often wear black lip stick and paint their eyes so dark with mascara that they look like vampires. Goths are all obsessed with death and despair, with terror and violence, and most Goths use drugs as a form of everyday life. Some abuse their children, perform Satanic rituals, and drink human blood...

The Dangers of Rock Music

...Rock music attacks the nervous system, affecting one's emotional state. Is it any wonder why Americans, now more than ever before, are blowing-up in anger, flying off the handle, committing suicide, and losing their minds?

Goth is particularly dangerous because the lyrics to the music often glamorize killing, brutality, sadism, masochism, pedophilia, torture, freakism, and all sorts of heathendom. The music is often characterized by relentless yelling and screaming, freakish embellishments of the voice, evil sounding backgrounds, etc. There just a bunch of sickos. Magician, Criss Angel, has made millions of dollars with his "Mind Freak" series, and he definitely fits in well with the Goth freak culture. Criss Angel's theme song is characterized by his own voice screaming "mind freak" repeatedly at the top of his lungs. This is Satanic. We read in the Bible in Philippians 2:5, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." God doesn't want us to walk around singing "mind freak" (which a person cannot help but hear repeatedly in their memory after watching one of Criss Angel's shows). Satan is the freak of freaks. Jesus called Satan the father of all liars (John 8:44).

It is not difficult to let Lucifer into your home (1st Peter 5:8). The Apostle Paul prophesied in 2nd Timothy 3:6 of the future time when lustful men would creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lust. From the witchcraft of Sabrina, to the lewdness of Hugh Hefner; from the whores of Desperate Housewives, to the demonic New Age indoctrination of Oprah Winfrey; from the homosexuality of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, to the lasciviousness of nearly every prime time TV program―Americans have opened the door wide for Satan to creep right into our homes...

First of all, most Goths do not glorify things that are sick, nasty, improper, freakish, and downright demonic..., Most Goths are just normal people who go to school/work just like everybody else. Sure, there is a minority who does but if you look towards the society today you see thatthe same things happen there too.


Also, you claim that The Goth culture includes Emos/ punks/ Wiccan witches/ self-abusers/ thrashers/ grungers/ heavy metallers, et cetera. This includes the Marilyn Manson, AC/DC, Smashing Pumpkins, Van Halen and Ozzy Osbourne crowd as well. This however is not correct, all those groups you call Goth are actually subcultures on there own and have very little to do with each other. Some are even the extreme opposite of Goth. Punk for instance was the Reason why Goth emerged, Goths wanted to take a distance of the crude punk and thus created their own subculture. Things like Thrasers, Grungers, Emo's and Metalheads aren't even related to Goth as they were born out of way different backgrounds than Goth.


As for the fashion I can say that dark colors are indeed prevailing in the scene but this is not a must, there isn't a "uniform", everyone dresses as he/she feels like. This is proved by the recent popularity of CyberGothic where light colors like white and even pink are worn. The Goth scene isn't straight forward, you don't have one group but you have several sub-genres in the scene. Every one of these subgroups have a certain style and it's very difficult for an outsider to recognize who belongs to which sub-genre.

Your claim that Goths abuse children, perform satanic stuff, take drugs, turn to a life of crime,etc. are again the typical nonsense of stereotypes. Sure, some might do this stuff but that's not different than the society where we life in today, kids have been abused before the Goth scene existed, as has satanic rituals, crime etc.

The drugs claim is very unrealistic. I'm not gonna say there isn't drugs in the scene but it's low compared to the Goa or even Techno/Trance scenes and it's certainly as omnipresent as in those scenes.

And Goth music, that is a subject that is so diverse that you might as well write a whole book about it, there are so many different bands that even I encounter bands I never heard of before, and I'm 15 years into the Gothscene don't you mind. And yes indeed, there are Satanic bands, I'm aware of that but that doesn't mean every Goth likes them, some will others won't. The number of satanic bands in the Gothscene is low, they are a real minority, certainly today as the scene more and more leans towards the pure electronic cyberelectro and Industrial where lyrics are almost non-existing.

The only way to really know the Gothscene is to go out in it, not by reading some findings of people who aren't even remotely informed about it to begin with. The only reason why the media blows it up is because they want to shock the people and sell a lot magazines or newspapers, nothing more.

You are always bashing on other countries while your precious America is in fact the largest drugs consuming countries of the world (per capita of course), even for the legal ones. In all those years I'm in the Goth scene I never encountered anyone who tried to sell me dope on a Goth party, not once. But don't understand me wrong, I'm not claiming there isn't any drugs going around but in present day that is hardly a surprise, drugs are everywhere, from schools to offices. That's the sad reality, you can't lay all the problems in one group.

You are always bashing on other countries while your precious America is in fact the largest drugs consuming countries of the world (per capita of course), even for the legal ones. In all those years I'm in the Goth scene I never encountered anyone who tried to sell me dope on a Goth party, not once. But don't understand me wrong, I'm not claiming there isn't any drugs going around but in present day that is hardly a surprise, drugs are everywhere, from schools to offices. That's the sad reality, you can't lay all the problems in one group.

You see, this is why, if Belgium was a real place, I'd be in favour of bombing it into oblivion.

The use of drugs has nothing to do with one group anymore, it so widespread in all layers of society that it's almost out of control. America puts a lot of money in their war on drugs but it hardly yields result because the only take on those who supply it but not the root of the problem. Not that America is the only one who uses this strategy, many countries use it with equally little result to show.

The Goth scene isn't straight

There you have it! They even ADMIT it!

Every one of these subgroups have a certain style and it's very difficult for an outsider to recognize who belongs to which sub-genre.

It's also difficult to tell the difference between a member of Al-Queda, Hamas, Hezbolla, Al-Zezerra, Al Asqua, B'rinia B'hawhatever, but that doesn't stop our crusaders from cluster-bombing them. If you care so much about this, maybe you should publish a "Field Guide to the satanic freaks", you know, like those guides birdwatchers use.

Sure, some might do this stuff but that's not different than the society where we life in today

I'm not saying that all is well in the Gothsubculture, there are some very disturbed people running around but this is not because they are Goth, they would have been disturbed too if Goth didn't exist. You can't blame everything on one group, everybody has to decide for themselves what path he takes and this is also true for Goths. It's your own choice to be satanist, Wiccan, do drugs, be gay, be fetishistic,... Whatever someone claims, you aren't born a satanist, gay or drug-user, it's something you learn, think about it and decide yourself whether you want to pursue that path. Therefor you cannot judge a whole group, you have to judge person to person. I for myself do not follow satan nor do I follow Wicca. I hate drugs and gay people better not try to hit on me. That's the choice I made, someone else might make another.

I am shocked at how little you people (excluding those who made excellent arguments for the subculture) know about what is Goth. A Goth person is just like you with a job and a loving family, our only difference is our perspective in life. Why can't you see beauty in the strange? It's there. A girl's flawless, smooth face framed by black hair and intense blue eyes (or whatever other color eyes can be).

It can work the same way with guys. Hair spiked up with the color of the day gel, shrouded in the black cloak of mystery with an elegant glass of Merlot wine in his hand. There is beauty in these people.
Goth is not a cult; it is not a mental disease. Goth is the beauty in all things whether it be of light or dark, it doesn't matter.
Any one else can give you another definition of Goth because what Goth is depends on the participant in the subculture. I have told you what I believe to be Goth, someone else may tell you different.

Nope. My only attraction is to guys. Some girls are pretty in a respectful sense, but I only like men, and even then it's only men of a certain personality. Strong willed, protective men who know a good deal of martial arts and take excellent care of themselves (like Shadow). I admit he has his faults (like his temper) but everyone does. Faults can be worked through.
