I was 37 when I met my wife, Sarah. She was 26.

First marriage for both of us. Yeah ... I know. I was old to be a first starter.

But I was a bit of a ratbag prior to that.

Don't worry about it, the person who started this thread has been banned. I believe in his "world" view, you would of been classified a pedophile because your wife was over 5 years younger than you. Or was it you would be a desparate man because you married someone over the age of 25? I don't know, he accused me of both on the same day.

Really it was quite the insane debate. Long story short, Liz was over 30 and I was 41 when we married. I was hung up on getting ahead in my career and Liz just hadn't met someone that fit her description of a Christian husband.
PROOF: Atheists are too stupid to understand the Bible!

Proverbs 13:24(KJV): "He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes."

Galatians 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

I expected her to just shy of eighteen like a few months or weeks even..

Anyway her manner around the forum made me think otherwise, she seems to be running the show almost, the rest of you guys are more immature

Thank you for clarifying, I wasn't interested in Felicity, at least not a lot, but knowing her age, I can decidedly say no. Hopefully the rest of the old farts in Freehold will have the same sense and let her marry someone slightly above her own age.

Last, James, I know your wife is none of my business, why would you even think that, I'm starting to think you're a sexual predator, anyway no harm in asking her age, I mean, it's not like she's twenty-five, right? Or younger than that? Because if she is then you are a dirty old man, and no True Christian is like that, right?

Sister Felicity asks questions that any True Christian(tm) 16 young lady would ask so that she might keep herself pure, for the husband her father picks out for her. How do you make that huge leap across a chasm half a world wide to "almost running the show?" Logic is not your forte, is it? Maybe you could pick up a pointer or two here:

And pay attention so you do not confuse the word fallacy with the name Felicity. You are 99 pennies short of a dollar.

ps. Is a young woman who marries and old man a whore and so sentenced to hell? I'm not sure so I ask those who know the Bible better than I do. Or what about the man, is he guilty of denying the young woman the company and happiness and intimacy with a young and strong man, and so worthy of hell? Are you mocking the Lord with your behaviour, which is far worse than doing it with words, which I didn't even do, since I said I was sent here BY the Lord and not that I WAS the Lord (Lord forgive me for even uttering such foul things)

There is absolutely nothing the bible has to say about propriety of age in a relationship. The closest it gets is mentioning that at 100 years of age Abraham married Sarah who was 90. The big question was about the fertility of Sarah. God fixed the problem for them as he fixes the problems of all True Christians™.

The Epistle of James says that lust should not be the impetus for a marriage.

Re: How old were you when you were married?

I was 20 when I married my husband Ezekiel. He was 30 at the time.

I could not wait to assume my duties as a wonderful Christian housewife. I did not have college to attend to, after all, do I need a degree to cook, clean, and give life?

We are blessed with 10 healthy children. The eldest of these children is my daughter Temperance, who is 15. The youngest is my other daughter Prudence, who is 3. I have not been blessed with a pregnancy since her birth, and every night I pray to my LORD that I may conceive and bear another child.

I was married at 21. I met my boyfriend at church when I was 18 and we had a long, chaste courtship. It was also a test to see if both of us truly loved each other and it wasn't lust. We passed the test. I encourage all True Christian(tm) ladies to have a long engagement since it will let you know if the man is right for you. If he can go years without being tempted into trying sexual intercourse on you, then you know he is a Godly man. I was reading that Daisy Mae Johnson and Pastor Ezekiel have been engaged for like seven years, I believe? It's good to know that there are some fellow couples for Christ out there.

Re: How old were you when you were married?

I waited until I was 17 as my wife was a good many years younger than I. Sadly, she died shortly after graduation from college. Poor girl worked three jobs to pay for my education and personal expense and died a week after all the bills were paid. She was finally going to be able to quit one of her three jobs. She was unable to provide me with any sons, just daughters. Been a long time since I thought of them, must be close to 35 years.
My second wife was 18 when we married. She produced four fine sons and a couple of daughters. Tragically, just as my career was getting into full swing when I was 28, she fell down an abandoned well on some old farm land I was thinking of investing in. Well, after her disappearance, I felt obliged to purchase the property. I have since retired to it and it is now a working farm.
My third wife I married when I was 28, a few days after I bought the farm. She has produced close to 18 sons and too many daughters. We are still married today. She works the farm for me in my retirement and when I travel.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Do you use your brain when you write this stuff? Or are you driving right now and can't give full attention to what you write?

You just wrote two contradictory statements about Jesus' love. Which is it? Does Jesus love everyone, or only those who would accept His forgiveness?

                          God doesn't love everybody:

                          Proverbs 6
[16] These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
[17] A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
[18] An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
[19] A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

And don't give me any "He hates the sin, not the sinner" crap...

                          Matthew 13
                          [38] The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
[39] The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
[40] As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
                          [41] The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
[42] And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
                          Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Here's some reading for your phone.

Here is a short list of things and people God hates and/or finds to be an abomination (worthy of or causing disgust or hatred).

Psalm 11:5 The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

Hosea 9:15 All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.

Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

                            Romans 9:13
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

Proverbs 15:8-9,26 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

Proverbs 16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

Isaiah 1:13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.
Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.

Amos 5:21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.

Deuteronomy 16:22 Neither shalt thou set thee up any image; which the LORD thy God hateth.

Revelation 2:6; 15 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.
So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.

Well, the first time I was married at 14, but he died in a tragic gun cleaning accident.

And the next time could be any year now. PRAISE JESUS! Hopefully sooner than later.... hint hint.

Friend, the fallacy of your statement is found in my signature verse.

                                Amen!
But whosoever shall deny me before men,
him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
