NCsoft, producer of the City of Heroes, announced recently that they will probably shut down the MMO in the end of this year.
While one big MMO gone is a step in the right direction, I think it's too early to rejoice. Please pray for a collapse of all MMO's out there. It is possible if the shutdown of City of Heroes trigger a cascade effect of distrust in MMO's. Just imagine, no more kids (and adults behaving like kids) playing WoW, Diablo, Guild Wars or those other time hogs.
And if the kids wants to waste their life on MMO's, why not use this possibility to make a True Christian MMO, where every dialog and character are from the Bible. And you get rewarded for good Christian actions like hunting and spanking kids instead of urban exploration and collecting pagan runes. You get healed by Jesus and not from weird kamasutra elixirs.
The reason there are no such game is probably because the disobedient kids of today are brainwashed by a-tists to get sexually attracted by dwarfs and elves, hence making it difficult to compete with WoW. But without WoW, anything is possible, praise Jesus!
