    Is a thong OK at Community Pool?

    Thongs: are they OK for community pools? That is a question that has been asked many times recently due to the arrest of Martha Sue Johnston at the community pool in March. It seems that the little tart had a string style suit (if you can call it that) under a skirt, and she went swimming in the pool with JUST THE BIKINI on.

    Where did she get the idea that this was proper behavior for a decent girl? It certainly wasn't on the Godless beaches of Australia that we visited last summer as missionaries.
    A couple of the regulars at the pool spotted miss Johnston and complained, forcing the desk clerk, Miss Amber Johnston (no relation) to call the police. Martha Sue was arrested as she was exiting the women's locker room.

    According to the Freehold register she pleaded no contest to indecent exposure and was released after paying a 500$ fine and agreeing to serve 50 hours community service.

    When she complained, "but Judge, there's no sign saying 'NO THONGS'", the Hon. Judge Matthews replied, "Sweetheart, this is a matter of public morals, not signage."

    Girls (AND BOYS) are reminded not to wear inappropriate bathing attire at any of the municipal pools.
    Is a thong OK at a community pool? Maybe if you're in Europe or the French Riviera, but not in the middle of Iowa. We have different community standards here in the U.S.A. and a justice system that's willing to enforce them. Praise!

      I wish I came from an age when women knew that hiding their bodies was the respectable thing to do.

        They aren't doing anything wrong. They shouldn't cover up their body due to embarrassment either. Clothes are to protect people from the elements and you don't need them in the summer.

            Who is this nudist you are talking about? to me that sounds like a rude comment.
            Remember even in the justice system it's all about intention. If she went swimming in "Just her bikini" that doesn't sound like an issue to me. If she was flaunting around trying to get people to look at her then that's a different story.

            I don't know about Idaho but where I come from, there's often a person who wears a stylish bikini and as long as it's not rude, then thong or not, no one has any issues.

                  Public pools are like negroes. They rape women!

                  I knew a girl when I was a teenager who said she got pregnant from a public pool!

                  She even had a modest one-piece swim suit on and not disgusting thongs.

                      See post #3 as an example of what to wear. If a woman can float in the water and not be extremely burdened by the weight of the water on her clothes getting out, then she doesn't have enough covering her.

                      Men can wear pretty much whatever they want because women don't have lust and really only care about knitting and such.

                        Was seen in the Des Moines pool last summer. They used to allow two piece womens bathing suits. The pool had to be empty and concreted in due to the unsanitary conditions. Apparently the sight of a 20 something girl jumping on the diving board was too much for the boy and it caused him to 'have a release', poor little fellow. I understand it took months of closed door prayer sessions before the child felt fully relieved.
