What's wrong with Sweden? They are outraged that toy block company LEGO chose to target its products to little boys and girls:

A Swedish advertising watchdog has slammed Danish toymaker Lego for a catalogue it claims promotes outdated gender roles.


Sweden’s Trade Ethical Council against Sexism in Advertising (ERK) singled out images in a recent Lego catalogue which featured a little girl playing in a pink room with ponies, a princess, and a palace accompanied by a caption reading, “Everything a princess could wish for…”

On the opposite side of the page, a little boy can be seen in a blue room playing with a fire station, fire trucks, a police station, and an airplane. The caption beneath reads, “Tons of blocks for slightly older boys.”

In its findings, the ERK singled out the images for preserving traditional and anachronistic views on gender roles, according to the Göteborgs-Posten newspaper.

Furthermore, said ERK, the pictures constituted a form of stereotyping which was degrading to both men and women.

Lego defended the images in question by pointing out they were included in a catalogue which also contained several pictures of boys and girls playing together.

The company said it didn’t believe the catalogue would be viewed as promoting stereotypes, insulting, or discriminatory.

The ERK backed its ruling by referring to the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), which says that advertising should be not be discriminatory when it comes to issues of gender.

These eunuchs obviously want little girls to play with fire engines, and for little boys to play with cute pink castles with princesses and housework chores to complete.

Does anyone besides me see this as hypocritical? Shouldn't LEGO be allowed to market gender specific toys, as it is their business?

I have a feeling that there is a lot more going on in Sweden that one would want to know.

I’ll tell you an absolutely true story Brother Nobar that shows the ridiculousness of these Swedes.

A friend of Mrs Bathfire is a kindergarten teacher, she was instructed by the headmaster to provide the boys with a dolls’ house and the girls with toy cars. Rolling her eyes, she did as was required.

Within 10 minutes, the boys were playing a game where half the dolls were held hostage in the dolls’ house and the other half were shooting it out with the kidnappers, whilst the girls were all cleaning the cars.

I think I have said enough – man cannot defeat God’s Plan.

Have you ever dealt with a boy who wants to play with girly toys? Or a girl who wants to play football and baseball? They decide for themselves what they want and no God or scary preacher man can convince them otherwise. The best you people do is put emotional abuse in them that winds up requiring years and years of therapy.
When I was little, I used to have barbie dolls and GI Joe fighting each other.

OK, you retards, we're not talking about how hard to discipline your boys if you find them playing with dolls; this thread is about the insanity of a nation demanding that an international corporation adjust their boy-toy and girly-toy advertising to not appeal to boys or girls.

What should their ad say? "Pink bikes and blue bikes!! You decide which you like!!"

It would take a pretty bad parent to allow their boy to ask for a pink bike. Fag or not, that little boy is going to be teased or beaten up in school. Is that what you want, now?

I'd like to see parents teach their children that color preferences have nothing to do with physical gender or sexual orientation. If a boy likes pink, so what?

My parents insisted on getting me barbie dolls and stuff like that, but I always hated it. I went into my brothers room, played with his GI Joe toys and they always killed Barbie.... over and over again. My parents didn't know what to do when they kept finding the barbie dolls torn apart.
