Changes in my opinions...
Recent developments in the war against climate change have done the unthinkable- moved Wash O'Hanley, Central Iowa's #1 Conservative radio pundit onto a different side of the fence. Once a vocal opponent to the theory, Wash enlists the help of Democratic Presidential candidate Barrak Obama and former Vice President and star of the Oscar-winning documentary "An Inconvinient Truth", Al Gore, to uncover the facts about the looming danger of global warming.
"It's true, at one time I said things like 'Global warming is a scam by the Left to stifle big business in America', but then I looked at the facts and saw that by the year 2075 the world's sea level will have risen 10 feet, destroying literally thousands of dollars worth of poorly-concieved construction sites such as celebrity homes and trendy seafood resturants. If we do not act today, our children will not have a tomorrow where they can enjoy upscale seafood resturants or buy wildly overpriced homes overlooking the ocean." -Wash O'Hanley
Join Wash as he takes a cross-country road trip warning Americans about the dangers of littering, over consumption, burning oil and deforestation, all leading up to Earth Day 2007 in Washington DC where protestors will voice their concerns about the future of the world.
"A tree is a living being, like a human or an animal and we must do what we can to save them." -Wash O'Hanley
Could this be the start of other issues that Wash will change his views on?
"It's entirely possible, I mean, I'm already beginning to question the war in Iraq and after spending time with PETA and Greenpeace this week, I am seeing new sides to the gay marriage debate that I never would have heard before. I spent a lot of time with Barack Obama this week on the road and he is a really great guy. He took me to the Mosques to pray, then I had fried chicken and watermelon with his beautiful family as well as picking up numerous white women with his campaign limo, it was a real blast. He's very humble and put on a ski mask so people wouldn't recognize him while we stopped at every 7-11 along the way to get money (while I waited in the car). It says a lot about his character when he just wants to be treated like every one else, he didn't want to be singled out, he always ran out of the 7-11's as if he were being chased, he's so bashful." -Wash O'Hanley
When asked if he could see himself supporting Senator Obama in the '08 election...
"I wouldn't rule that out, so far I have been impressed by both candidates, Hillary and Obama, it's going to be an interesting race and hopefully, whoever wins the primaries will let the loser be their running partner. I think one of the biggest issues I will be looking at with all the candidates are which one has the best exit strategy for Iraq, who is most concerned about the envioronment, public schools and social programs like Welfare, Social Security and Healthcare for all. I am also very concerned about the genocide in DarFur as well as how America plans on contributing funds to aid the third world."
That's all I have to say for now, may the spirit of Jesus be with all, especially the sinners who still have not found the way. May they one day find happiness.
