The trial has now been postponed after the juror had to be excused while examining photographs of student Karina Barduchian after her death. Maxim Golovatskikh and his friend florist Yury Mozhnov, both 20, drowned 16-year-old Karina Barduchian in a bath, then carved up her body and served her meat with potatoes to a lodger.
The lodger, Ekaterina Zinovyeva, told the court in St Petersburg they had a party with their Goth friends on the night of the murder in January, 2009. Karina, who was in love with Golovatskikh, stayed the night, she said. The victim had defied her mother [Edit: note disobedience to parents, which is entirely ungodly] in continuing to see Golovatskikh, who was also the lead singer in a minor pop group in Russia's second city.

ST PETERSBURG: Two Russian men who killed a teenage girl and ate parts of her corpse were convicted of murder and given lengthy prison sentences today, officials said.
Maxim Glavatskikh and Yury Mozhnov, both 20 years old, were sentenced to 19 and 18 years in prison, respectively, by a court in the northern Russian city of Saint Petersburg, local investigators said in a statement. "Once they were convinced their victim was dead, the defendants dismembered her corpse, then used part of her body and lower extremities as food, while removing the rest from the apartment," it said.
