Dear friend,
This will not take very long, at most a few minutes.
Reading this will be the most important thing you ever did though!
I am a Pastor from Freehold, Iowa. We, from Landover Baptist Church, are a group of Bible-believing Christians who follow the Holy Bible word-for-word, unlike most of the so-called Christians you will find in the world today. I would like to talk to you about your eternal destination. I am not trying to annoy you, scam you, or anything. I am just concerned about your soul.
Would you consider yourself to be a "good person"? I am guessing you will say yes, most people do. "Most men will proclaim everyone his own goodness..." (Proverbs 20:6) So, let us see if you really are a good person and if you have kept God's Standard, the Ten Commandments and His Holy Bible.
Ever told a lie? Even a very little one? That makes you a liar! "Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another." (Leviticus 19:11) And make no mistake, this means your portion will lie in Hell! "All liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone." (Revelation 21:8)
Ever stolen something? The value is irrelevant and it doesn't even have to be physical. That makes you a thief! "Thou shalt not steal." (Leviticus 19:11) And stealing, even if it is only once, even if it is something very small, means Hell!
Ever looked with lust at a member of the opposite sex? Jesus says: "Whoever looks upon a woman, to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." (Matthew 5:28) That would make you an adulterer!
Ever hated anyone, even if it was for just a second? "Whoever hates his brother is a murderer." (1st John 3:15) Have you ever done that? If so, you are a murderer!
Finally, have you ever, even if it is just once, used God's name in vain, like as a swear word or something? "Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain." (Exodus 20:16) If so, you are guilty of blasphemy!
Looking just at five examples, then, you are most likely a lying, thieving, adulterous, murdering blasphemer. You are guilty before a Holy, vengeful God and you will have to appear before Him one day on a bended knee.
Based on this, what do you think your destiny will be? An eternity in Heaven or an eternity in Hell and the Lake of Fire? Before you answer, consider some things. God's Word says "For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23), "There is none righteous; no, not one." (Romans 3:10) and "For the wages of sin are death." (Romans 6:23) Are you starting to feel a bit uncomfortable? Don't worry! Just keep reading.
We all have a very serious problem. We are all sinners, by choice and by nature. We are all no-good and filthy. We have all broken God's Law. We can't keep it, only break it. According to the Holy Bible, we all deserve eternal damnation and eternal torment.
However, God is also rich in mercy and grace. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to us 2,000 years ago to (temporarily) suffer and die on the Cross so that we might be saved through His Blood. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to be saved! "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father but by Me." (John 14:6)
No man means no one, no exceptions, not even for you! But, if we repent of our sins, "Except you repent, you shall all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3) and call upon the name of the Lord, believing in Him and His Word, He will save us! He will wash your sins away with His Blood, the same way He has washed away my sins! Just make sure to never blasphemy against the Holy Ghost since Jesus will never forgive you for that. "Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men." (Matthew 12:31)
Please take a look at these verses: "For by grace are ye saved through faith." (Ephesians 2:8) and "Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven." (Luke 6:22-23).
Will you let today be the day of your Salvation? I am not trying to rush you. I just want to warn you that life is short and that you could be one heartbeat away from eternity. Jesus could kill you at any moment and then it would be too late! If you are not Saved, you will spend all eternity being tortured in unspeakable ways! I am Praying for you, friend!
Yours in Christ,
Pastor J.C. Manning, M.D., Ph.D.
