And they have sparked feverish speculation that it’s about her rumoured “sex change op”.
The 25-year-old superstar helped things along nicely when she posted a rambling message, saying: “It’s not that I’ve been dishonest, it’s just that I loathe reality... The beginning of the story I never told you.”
Yesterday, the video was the talk of the internet, with fans flooding music forums with their wild theories.
“Damn! Did Gaga really have a sex change operation?” wrote one, while another said: “That picture is Gaga getting a sex change operation right?” However, others commented on the 70s decor in the footage, suggesting that Gaga is playing her aunt Joanne, who died of lupus in 1974.
Others suggested the pic could represent a suicide attempt or her male alter-ego, Jo Calderone. The infamous Glastonbury “pop-out” video received 3,400,000 hits on YouTube and the star even joked about it in a magazine interview last year.
