but im sick and I need him to guide me that is not tempting him. That is asking him for help. Tempting him would be just taking my hands off the wheel and praying for him guide me home.

If you took your hands off the wheel on purpose, that would be tempting God.

If you thought you wouldn't be able to keep your hands on the wheel the whole way home, but drove anyway, that would be tempting God.

If the sickness hit you suddenly while you were driving and you couldn't help but take your hands off the wheel, you wouldn't crash unless it was God's Will.

Bottom line is, you should pull over if you can.

Fifth: Because some one misused something does not make it evil. If some one takes medicine because they cant sleep at night for a medical reason this is good the person is alert and awake in the morning.(and if you think this is a bad thing how would you feel if the pilot of the plane you and your family are on needed these medications and was denied them because they where "evil") And some one takes them to get high are two very different situations and need to be thought of in very different ways. I don't know about you but I would want the pilot of my plane that me and my family where on well rested and alert when he was flying it wouldn't you?

and technically not taking the medication would be "tempting God". because if the pilot knew that he could not pilot the plane with out the sleep that the medicine would have given him and he prayed to God then he is tempting God.

In what way don't you understand Pastor Billy-Reuben's response? Jesus has ALREADY answered your prayers by providing a steering wheel for you. If you refuse to use it out of spite, you are tempting God, and will be punished accordingly. What other possible meaning could Matthew 4:7 have?

If you were to get ill and be unable to use your God-sent steering wheel, that would not be tempting God, so, if you asked sincerely and in faith, he would provide another way for you to return safely home. I know, since I have been sick behind the wheel several times in my life, and yet, through the power of prayer, here I am.

Let me give you an analogy. I saw a study once that showed that 97% of all people who survived when their homes were struck by a tornado were praying (this happens a lot here in Iowa, though no tornado has touched down in Freehold since we started keeping records in 1620). Most athiests claim that this isn't proof of God's existence or the power of prayer, but do you really want to be the only guy who isn't praying at that time? If so, well, be my guest.

If he didn't take the medication and then prayed for salvation, that would be tempting God. In that case, the plane would crash and the pilot would be killed. However, the passengers who were right with the Lord and asked for His help would miraculously survive, unless God had some other plan for them. I'd rather have God on my side than Charles Lindburgh in the cockpit any day.

I already agreed with you that I i took my hands off the wheel out of spite that Yes it would then be classified under the tempting the lord category. You my Friend missed the point of this little conversation to prove that

A: if You where in need of sleep medication and did not take them to be well rested to fly a plane and you asked the lord for help, That would be tempting the lord.
B: in the original context of this conversation you can see that your friend was wrong about the pilot. He would be tempting the lord in that situation.

and if you are about to say that he would just need to pary to get better sleep then Gods I submit that his answer to the pilots needs are in fact the sleep medication.

Further more then the medication was a work of god misused by the drug addict proving my point that good things can be misused such as the teenager masturbating with the Wii remote.

You're not looking at this logically; why do you need sleep medication or are sick? God is punishing you for your' sins. Therefor the medication is evil because it is seeking to subvert the will of God and if you crash your car because it then that is justice.

Ugh, you just don't get it, do you? Satan is an angel, a fallen angel, but still and angel. Angels don't have free will, they are extensions of God, like an arm.

He is a fallen angel yes. but he will do what he wants because if god could control him he would not wreck havoc on this earth.
