    If I may

Some quotes from the bible that I find interesting.

Of course I am no authority, and my source is google as I have no bible to hand in order to verify them, however... I kind of like these.

    Acts 10:28

And he said to them, “You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with or to visit anyone of another nation, but God has shown me that I should not call any man impure or unclean.

    Matthew 7:1

“Judge not, that you be not judged."

    1 Peter 3:8-11

Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.

    1 Corinthians 14:33

For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints.

    Matthew 24:1-51

Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. But he answered them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.” As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the close of the age?” And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray." ...

I especially like that last one, sounds like he is saying people should find their own path in life rather than worshipping leaders who come in his name... smart guy.

You know, you really should read only the KJV Bible.

GOD actually does enjoy confusing people from time to time, such as at the Tower of Babel. Just because GOD makes the rules doesn't mean He can't break them.

      OK, thanks for your guidance...

You provided me with an infraction for the original post, for the reason that I am quoting from a false bible.

If that is so, how do those verses read in the KJV?

If someone would be so kind, either that or point me to a link or something.

Why is the KJV true and other versions not?

        From here:

We also believe that the King James Bible is the only accurate English translation of God's Word. It is the only English language Bible based on the Textus Receptus. All others are based on the Alexandrian Manuscripts and the Latin Vulgate. The King James Bible is public domain, which means anyone can publish it. All other English language Bibles are copywrited by Jesus-Collins. Jesus-Collins also publishes How-To gay sex manuals and the Satanic Bible. Matthew 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
I strongly suggest you read the entire thread, as it answers many questions new posters have.

            Re: If I may

OK, I think I have them right now... not trying to be smart or anything, just interested in how you guys percieve these passages.

            Acts 10:28

28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

            Matthew 7

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

            1 Peter 3:8-11

8Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

9Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

10For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

11Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

            1 Corinthians 14:33

33For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

            Matthew 24:1-5

            Matthew 24

1And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

2And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

I "perceive" that these verses are the literal Word of God.

              Are they your favorites?

It does not just say "who come in his name" it also says 'I am the Christ,’. So this is about people pretending to be Christ, not people who act in His name. It is very important to take the Bible literally and not add you own stuff.
