I Tim 5:17-18 “Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.*For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.”
The word of God faithfully preached doesn’t come cheap. I can’t abide cheapskates who don’t tithe or give when it’s needed. You get what you pay for. If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. That’s why so many churches these days are stuck with liberal, wishy-washy preachers.
Those who preach shouldn’t have to struggle to make ends meet. The unsaved often think that being a pastor isn’t a proper job or that it’s an easy one, but here the Bible says that they labour in the Word. Preaching is hard work, and preachers are worthy of their reward.
