    Re: Tolerance

The bible surely does NOT promote intolerance. In fact...

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you (Matthew 7:12).”

That seems to say that you in fact should NOT judge people, correct? Which is tolerance, correct? In the bible, the LORD says that it is not our place to judge, in multiple places!

If you mean "Christians" as in salad bar Christian then yes, Satan dupes them all the time. How ever we TRUE Christians(tm) are ready for the tricks of sinners. We know all about the games God mocking Atheists play.

Since you've asked, the answer is "No."

Who are you? And what are you doing here?

You have not filled in your profile and have not posted a proper introduction of yourself.

You first post is just Needless Dickery(tm) and clearly shows that you are Unsaved Trash.

Because you are not listening. They are spreading the word and you are not reading it. How much tolerance would you like when next week you clearly will have the same attitude? I have to ask the same as others: Why are you here? I came looking for a deeper understanding of my own spiritual experience and not to change an ENTIRE BELIEF SYSTEM belonging to a large group of people written in what history considers the most accurate version of God's word. I never even once thought I would change LBC with my own special personal commentary. Why on earth do you? You have had your little debate and it changed no one here. What are you trying to accomplish? Leave, if you do not like what LBC believes. You have that choice. Go back to your cut and paste quotes from corrupt churches and secular scholars and hang on to it with comfort.

The Bible commands us to stay clear of unsaved scum. That's why we have that big banner outside our church that says "UNSAVED=UNWELCOME."

    Praise Jesus!

You're boring and witless, and on the verge of an infraction for so being. Really.

We aren't making any of this up. It is all in the Holy Bible. Those "secrets of the universe" and "every single thing people are supposed to do" you mentioned -- they are all in there.

God is right. The only reason we are also right is because we read and obey His Word. These aren't just our opinions here. This all comes from the Bible.

We don't have to worry about any of those "what if" questions, because we know what God is like because God tells him about Himself in the Bible.

If you think God is against war, then you simply haven't read the Bible. God LOVES war!

Exod 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.

Why don't you take the time to read the books of Numbers, Joshua, and Judges, and then come back and tell us that God doesn't like war, pillage, rape, and killing. Those are the most action packed books in the Bible. I'd love to see the Kendrick Brothers put out a big movie trilogy based on those books.

No, he died because only Levites descended from Kohath were allowed to touch the ark, and he wasn't a Kohathite. If he was, he would have been fine.

As Brother-in-Christ Jack Chick has pointed out, it is possible to be sincere and to be sincerely wrong.

What if a Presbyterian, or a Catholic, or a Wisconsin Lutheran came up to you and told you every single thing that you believe is wrong, and you're going to hell because you don't believe everything they do?
That's easy. I would just get out my King James Bible and point out how we are right. Of course, that might not even give the Romanists pause, since they put more faith in the babblings of a devil in a white dress than they do in God's Word.

Well, what if God doesn't even care about the details? What if God only wants us to believe in Him and give what we can of ourselves to make the world a better place for our fellow creatures?
I nominate your post for the "Least Appropriate Use of the Indicative Mood" award. If God didn't care about the details, the Bible would be awfully different from what it is.

We know our God because He has revealed Himself through Scripture. How do you know your god, or did you just make him up one morning?

That's not him; that's Tim Curry as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, which is purely entertainment. That picture is quite entertaining, actually; it makes me laugh.

I'm sorry, I'm trying very hard to be patient here, but it's extremely difficult when you say things like this. It just baffles me that someone could be so... I mean, isn't humility one of the major themes of Christianity? Isn't love? And yet, here you sit, acting like God himself came to you in the night and told you all the secrets of the universe, every single thing people are supposed to do, never once willing to admit that maybe you were wrong. All you have to go on is faith, and that's exactly what the rest of us have. It's really hard to understand why you can't have a mature discussion with anyone on this site. You do realize, of course, that nobody ever actually debates these topics; you instead focus on simple typos or hide behind lazy attempts at insults. How are you supposed to follow God's word if all you do is tell people, while masquerading patience, that you're the only one who's ever going to be right? Don't you realize how many people like you there are in this world, of different denominations? What if a Presbyterian, or a Catholic, or a Wisconsin Lutheran came up to you and told you every single thing that you believe is wrong, and you're going to hell because you don't believe everything they do? It hurts, doesn't it? How can something that causes so much pain and enmity and negativity in the world, something that's the root cause of so many international wars and otherwise unprovoked murders "in the name of God," result in something good for the rest of the world? Isn't that what we're supposed to do as Christians, do good things for the world? Maybe you believe you are if you tell people your version of the truth. Well, what if God doesn't even care about the details? What if God only wants us to believe in Him and give what we can of ourselves to make the world a better place for our fellow creatures? Then all the good ones would go to heaven, and you'll have wasted valuable time that could be spent cleaning up the environment or helping a woman who's been victimized by extremist Christians who believe her spiritually equivalent to Lucifer himself, by the sounds of some of these people. What's worse, you'll have wasted it starting fights. God doesn't hate much, but one thing He can't stand is two people He loves to death fighting. That's happening all over the world. He loves us all, and we're causing Him pain by fighting all the time. What if you had two children and they started beating each other up over something stupid they were each both right and wrong about, but they couldn't resolve in time because they never gave each other the chance to talk it out? Wouldn't it tear you apart, to watch them kill each other rather than compromise and grow closer as siblings? Just imagine that. You don't want to do that to God. I'm begging you, live and let live. If they believe the wrong thing, they'll find their way. The truth means nothing if you don't discover it for yourself. Didn't the man who caught the Ark of the Covenant die because he touched it, rather than leaving its rescue in the hands of God? There's a lesson in that. God still loves them. God will show them the way. It's okay for it to be out of your hands. I assure you, God is more than capable of handling it.
