Could you give me the exact reference to the page where it says the Church was built on the "faith" of Peter? because that is a very protestant thing to say.
By the way there is sufficient evidence that Peter was in Rome, was crucified in Rome and is buried in Rome. Under the Basillica.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Explain it again?
The notion that Christ should build His church on SATAN Peter is so stupid that the Mary worshippers don't even believe it themselves. But SATAN Peter - for all his faults - had FAITH, and it was on this FAITH that Our Lord built His church. PRAISE.
I'll let your own top fish-head explain it to you, Fish. Right from the Devil's foul mouth as it were - quoting the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
424http://www.vatican.vaMoved by the grace on the Holy Spirit and drawn by the Father, we believe in Jesus and confess: "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Mat 16:16) On the rock of this faith confessed by St. Peter, Christ built his Church. (Mat 16:18, St Leo the Great - Sermo 4,3; Sermo 51,1; Sermo 62,2; Sermo 83,3 )
442http://www.vatican.va... And in the synagogues immediately [Paul] proclaimed Jesus, saying, 'He is the Son of God.'" (Acts 9:12) From the beginning this acknowledgment of Christ's divine sonship will be the center of the apostolic faith, first professed by Peter as the Church's foundation. ( cf. 1 Thess 1:10, Jn 20:31; Mt 16:18)
That's the official Catholic explanation: The Church was founded on rock-solid FAITH. Nowhere in the Bible does it indicate that Peter founded any churches, that Peter was a "specially gifted" apostle, that Peter ever was in Rome or that Peter could pass his "special gift" on to a succession of fish-heads.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
I had already answered that question before you got around to asking it. Jesus gave us the test that I noted above, and Mother Rome flunks it spectacularly. As for that Scripture verse, it is addressed to Peter himself, not to such fine examples of Catholic morality as Pope Alexander VI.
It means just what it says. The problem for you is that Peter NEVER founded the cathylick church! HE NEVER SET FOOT IN ROME, AND HE WAS A NEVER A POPE.
This verse has NOTHING to do with you cathylicks, get over it. Let's take a look at some of Peters writings instead:
For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. 1 Peter 4:3-5
'Abominable idolatries' And what else could it be called to bow to statues of Mary? Fishy, back in my unsaved days, I once visited Rome. I've seen the dome, I've seen the sixtinth chapel, I've seen it with my own eyes; And it's filled to the brim with abomination.. Statues of popes, Mary, a grim reaper, of this and of that.. With lots of people kissing some of these statues, or/and praying before them.
But the LORD says: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; Exodus 20:4-5
The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock. 1 Peter 5:1-3
'Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.'-God talking through Peter. 'We hold upon this earth the place of God Allmighty.'- pope Leo XIII (ie satan talking through a pope.)
For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. Luke 14:11
You honestly think Peter would have supported the abomination that is the cathylick church?
You know perfectly well that I never said Jesus lied or anything remotely like it. Disagreeing with a fool like you or with cathylicker doctrine is not saying that Jesus lied.
Even you can understand that. Jesus said that Peter was the rock upon which he'd build the church. He didn't say that there would or should be a succession of infallible popes who were to represent him on earth. The institution of the pope is a man-made corruption of the Bible.
Are you saying that all protestants say that Jesus lied? Are you? If I were you, Fish, I would be trembling in my boots about the day when I will have to appear before the great White Throne of Judgement and account for the evil I have done.
Even if the cathylic heresy were correct, those who disagree with it may simply be honestly mistaken -- to claim that they say Jesus is a liar is a foul, loathesome, ignorant, unGodly, and filthy libel that you know is untrue. You will pay for that in the hereafter, Fish, if you don't pay for it on this earth.
If you wish to remain on this forum, make an attempt to argue sensibly.
I was right before. You really do have a problem with reading comprehension.
How do you conclude from that Scripture passage that Jesus instituted the Roman institution? There is, in fact, a very simple way to determine conclusively that He did not. In Matt. 7:15-20, Jesus instructed us:
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Given all of the noxious fruits that have grown on the tree of Romanism, it is clear that the fish-heads are among the ravening wolves of whom Our Lord warned us.
Miss fishhead, you have just taken a large leap forward toward permanent banishment. Lying about an LBC Pastor AND about Jesus is a gravely serious offence. It seems that you are completely recalcitrant, and lost to eternal damnation. Oh well, we tried.
We are saying that the pope and the jesuits lie and that your interpretation of scripture is based on lies and stupidity.
That Jesus' references to the "rock" could be interpreted as justifing the perverse institution that is the papacy is all the evidence any sensible person could ever need for the corruption and evilness of the Cathylick church.
Jesus himself said He would build His Church upon the rock (St Peter) and the gates of hell would not prevail against it. The Catholic Church is the Church Jesus founded. Are you saying Jesus lied?

That is an argument that is more illogical and silly than most of the Bapwits. Jesus has never said that the Catholic church was the one he founded. In fact Jesus has said nothing at all for over 2000 years now.
To be fair to the Bapwits, no, they are not saying Jesus lied. Strewth, no, mate, not at all. Your comin the raw prawn with arguments like the one above won't wash, cracker.
The gist of what they are sayin is that you have only the one oar in the water -- that you are a six-pack and some sandwiches short of a picnic, several steaks short of a barbie, etc.
The catholic church was not foundered by Jesus. Give up this religious nonsense you fool. It is a fiction designed for primitive people and how anyone in this day and age can take it seriously is beyond belief.
I don't capitalize it either but that is deliberate. It is like the word "king." Unless we are being disrespectful, we will captalize any reference to the King, but not a reference to a king. This is an oversimplification, to be sure, but, we are conscious of the need to adapt our explanations to the ability of the audience, which in this case is a simple-minded cathylick boy who is so incredibly ignorant and uneducated that he thinks the word "pope" is not usually capitalized.
Rule of thumb: if king is preceded by the definite article, capitalize it. If by the indefinite article, don't capitalize it.
As far as the pope is concerned never capitalize it! Don't take any notice of Mo, he spent too long in a cathylick priests' seminary to know his a from his e.
Vatican II is just a further injection into the homer bloodstream that is the Cathylick Church. It has solved and will solve nothing -- it only increases the hatred that Jesus has for that so-called "church".
