By the way there is sufficient evidence that Peter was in Rome, was crucified in Rome and is buried in Rome. Under the Basillica.

That's the official Catholic explanation: The Church was founded on rock-solid FAITH. Nowhere in the Bible does it indicate that Peter founded any churches, that Peter was a "specially gifted" apostle, that Peter ever was in Rome or that Peter could pass his "special gift" on to a succession of fish-heads.

I had already answered that question before you got around to asking it. Jesus gave us the test that I noted above, and Mother Rome flunks it spectacularly. As for that Scripture verse, it is addressed to Peter himself, not to such fine examples of Catholic morality as Pope Alexander VI.

You know perfectly well that I never said Jesus lied or anything remotely like it. Disagreeing with a fool like you or with cathylicker doctrine is not saying that Jesus lied.

Even you can understand that. Jesus said that Peter was the rock upon which he'd build the church. He didn't say that there would or should be a succession of infallible popes who were to represent him on earth. The institution of the pope is a man-made corruption of the Bible.

Are you saying that all protestants say that Jesus lied? Are you? If I were you, Fish, I would be trembling in my boots about the day when I will have to appear before the great White Throne of Judgement and account for the evil I have done.

Even if the cathylic heresy were correct, those who disagree with it may simply be honestly mistaken -- to claim that they say Jesus is a liar is a foul, loathesome, ignorant, unGodly, and filthy libel that you know is untrue. How do you conclude from that Scripture passage that Jesus instituted the Roman institution? There is, in fact, a very simple way to determine conclusively that He did not. In Matt. 7:15-20, Jesus instructed us:

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. That is an argument that is more illogical and silly than most of the Bapwits. Jesus has never said that the Catholic church was the one he founded. In fact Jesus has said nothing at all for over 2000 years now.

I don't capitalize it either but that is deliberate. It is like the word "king." Unless we are being disrespectful, we will captalize any reference to the King, but not a reference to a king. This is an oversimplification, to be sure, but, we are conscious of the need to adapt our explanations to the ability of the audience, which in this case is a simple-minded cathylick boy who is so incredibly ignorant and uneducated that he thinks the word "pope" is not usually capitalized.

Rule of thumb: if king is preceded by the definite article, capitalize it. If by the indefinite article, don't capitalize it.

As far as the pope is concerned never capitalize it! Don't take any notice of Mo, he spent too long in a cathylick priests' seminary to know his a from his e.
