If the Earth was revolving around the sun (and also rotating at 800 mph), we would have no atmosphere. It would blow off into space. Also, we would have no gravity, because centrifugal force would blow us (and everything) out into space, along with the atmosphere.

Here's a science experiment that you can use to debunk earth's rotation: Take a beach ball and lightly tape a small object (a penny, toy figurine, etc.) so that it won't fall of the ball when stationary but is not so tightly taped to it either. Now throw the ball up in the air and make sure you spin it very fast. What will happen? The object gets thrown off the ball by centrifugual force.

This proves the earth does not rotate, and hence does not revolve around the sun.

What could be more obvious--- if God created the Earth and man in his own image, why would He make any other body in his Universe the center? It defies simple logic that any four year old is capable of. So obviously, the Earth is about 6000 years old and the center of the Universe.

That said, if the idea of relative motion holds with objects moving on Earth, then the Earth could also, despite moving, keep the individuals on it stationary. As long as the Earth doesn't undergo a traumatic change in speed, there would be absolutely no problem for anything to remain attached, since everything on the Earth is travelling at the same speed as the Earth.

So, by your own reasoning it would be impossible to tell the difference between an immobile earth and a rotating, orbiting earth, correct? This means geo verse helio centric solar system is a matter of personal interpretation. Two different conclusions reached from the same data.

All we are saying is teach the controversy.

I don't think that this holds up to scrutiny. Nephew Zebulun has just returned from Australia. I asked him if he had been sick and dizzy because, for him, if the Earth moved, he would have been going the wrong way.

He replied that apart from an episode at a Barbie on Bondai Beach, where he suspects that either a shrimp was bad or one of the 15 cans of Fosters was past its best, he never felt a thing.

All I said is that objects travelling as a part of another object have the same direction of motion. A coin being kept in your car has the same direction of movement as the rest of your car. If your car is travelling at 60 km/h, then you, and any coins or objects in your car are also travelling at 60 km/h.

Now, to you, in the car, see any objects in it as not moving, or, at rest, even though the objects in your car are moving when taking the perspective of a person standing on the sidewalk.

What that is, essentially, is the concept of relative motion. All objects in the universe move, so motion can only be defined in terms of comparison with other objects.

But if it were nonsense and Aristotle's view of absolute motion and rest were true, then an object dropped in the back seat of a car travelling at a constant speed would have a visibly parabolic path, moving backwards as well as down. In fact, it falls in what appears to be a straight line, despite the fact that the motion is in fact parabolic to an outside observer watching from a point stationary relative to the car.

Not particularly. The rotation of the Earth remains constant, with the same general vector of motion, even on the Southern Hemisphere. If you're talking about East to West circumnavigation, it's because when travelling along that direction your speed is ultimately tied to the Earth, being that your still within its atmosphere.

Sort of the same reason why objects in a car driving along a banked oval track simulating a straight trajectory don't move backwards when you drop them. They're already moving at the velocity of the object carrying them, though their direction of movement relative to an outside observer is parabolic.

But then the merry-go round starts spinning in the other direction, you would get twice as dizzy and disoriented!

But if you went to the other hemisphere, you'd be spinning in the opposite direction than you have your whole life, so you would get dizzy, nauseous, even unable to stand. Since this doesn't happen the world must not spin, so the Sun must revolve around the Earth!

I read a book called The King James Version 1611. This records all possible history from the Earth's creation, 6004BC, to somewhere around 70AD.

Now if there had been clouds of gas turning into the sun, I'm sure someone would have noticed it and included it in KJV1611. I mean, it's not the sort of thing that would happen one night when you are asleep, is it?

However, I am as open-minded as the next True Christian(tm) and if you can produce peer reviewed journals, written by True Christian Biblical Scientists,supporting your conclusion, I'll be willing to look into your wild claims.
