In the same way you doubt that those words are real and think I wrote them on word, (which I really wouldn't need to do as I can type straight into this forum (webdings is an illegible font it would not affect anything)) I don't accept that the Bible is word of some higher being when it is historical fact that it was put together by the Romans from the Jews original writings, and when science has proved it wrong with actions not words.
You can not simply claim that God does what he wants, if there were no rules applying to the way matter behaves then if I wanted to I could appear next to you at this moment in time or put my arm through walls. To say that there are rules but they only apply when they prove you right is ridiculous and childish. if what you believed was so obviously true then why are you in such a small minority and why is it so difficult for you to prove what you believe without simply saying one book proves it. "God works in mysterious ways" is the worst cop out in history, you might as well proclaim that anything that proves you wrong is God pissing around for shits and giggles. What you are saying simply does not make sense. The amount of effort that would have to go into faking the Earth being round is so big there is absolutely nothing that could make it worthwhile. Even Muslims who believe in their religion so strongly that they are willing to blow themselves up for it do not refuse to believe simple physics.

Three arguments come to mind. All of these date back to Greek times or
earlier.

1. During lunar eclipses, the projected shadow of the earth on the moon is
always round. If the earth were flat, then this projection will not always
be circular (it could degenerate to a line!). But this is never observed,
regardless of the time of the lunar eclipse. Aristotle (384-322 BCE) wrote
about this. The third point, below, is also credited to Aristotle.

2. Eratosthanes (276-195(?) BCE) did a famous experiment on measuring the
angle of the sun at noon in Alexandria, Egypt, and in Syrene. Finding the
difference in the angles and knowing the distance between the two points,
the circumference can be calculated. He calculated the circumference in
stadia, which we do not know the conversion to our present day measure.

3. If you travel north or south a signigicant distance, you will see a
different set of stars at night. This will not happen on a flat surface.

the idea of a firmament is ridiculous, how do planets and the sun orbit the Earth and rotate separately, as well as this how can Pluto's orbit take it inside Neptune's? Where do the two asteroid belts come in to your idea or do you deny their existence and how do you explain away the fact that the stars change at night and this is not possible on a flat planet

so despite being able to rotate and orbit separately the solar system is actually rigid it all makes beautiful sense. i don't need a citation it is from the bible, saying it is not a real document because it disagrees with you is like telling a police officer his search warrant is fake because you don't want him to see what is in your house.

Why? The Sun is connected to the firmament which is connected to the disc. So no matter what movements the disc makes, the Sun automatically follows them. I do not get why all this is so hard to understand for you.
