If you observe the skeletal composition of a monkey, it is strikingly similar to a human's, with the spine extending further down to form a tail.

But that was really Sister Mary Maria's point. We don't have a tail, monkeys do.

In short, it is because the Earth, at one point, was one large mass of land. As this land split, the creatures evolved differently according to their independent needs based on geographical location, etc.

Hi, I just wanted to say you can clearly still see the remainings of a tail in human anatomy. It is called a tailbone.
