I dont blame them for putting thing like "earth is flat" in the bible, but you should relise that its old information. They didnt have the tools to know any better about earth back then but now we do.

You honestly think God sat in his study writing it? He has people to do it for Him. He was probably creating the heavens and the Earth and at the same time, having His scribes take down His words.

True, secular law prevents the outright owning of another human however, though clever financial arrangements, the same end is arrived at.

What a man does in his own home is private, between God and his spouse. The law allows for practicing religion between consenting adults.

Women will never be equal to a man, they simply do not have the mental facilities or the physical abilities.

I didnt start being off topic. If a man is beating his wife and police finds out, man goes to jail. Theres nothing else you can do about it except hire a very good lawyer.

If I suspect my wife of poisoning me, say by giving me improperly prepared food, you do not think I have the right to defend myself?
How about if my wife provides me with soiled clothing, with all sorts of devilish things on it. Should I take that attack lightly?
What if my wife verbally assaults me and causes me mental anguish, should not have the ability to fend off the hurt?

In all of the scenarios I presented, my wife could go to prison or worse. I would never let that happen to the woman I married. Instead, we work it out like adult Christians.
