I look at the bible with a modern eye. It was written before technologies. So what I do is try and use a modern eye on the scripture to give me a picture of what they really are describing. I mean the Pope did recently say it's not a sin to believe in aliens.

How can you believe in both science and The Bible (which is supposed to be capitalized, not only as it is the name of a book but the name of the Lord's book) when science quite often contradicts what The Bible says?

Who are you going to believe, some atheist scientist that is controlled by Satan or God, who created everything? I'll go with the latter, thank you very much.

Sorry Bobby-Joe. When you said the landover baptist church contained no architectural engineered I didn't think I could come up with a reply to continue the discourse as that statement fundamentally disagrees with my interpretation of the history of architecture and engineering.

That's because you have no faith in the power of Prayer. The Landover Baptist Church is entirely the product of TRUE Christian Faith. Glory!

I do agree the my initial approach was harsh and angry. You are one of the few people in the few hours I have been reading the forums to speak with a very logical and level head. I do enjoy the boolean take on the bible and it is the one thing I enjoy about your faith. I don't believe in the bible at all but I like that as a faith you do not pick and choose. My main problem at the beginning was the inconsistencies in the replies many people gave the criticism.

I'm not angry at the bible at all. Its mostly people I can't tolerate, I may have that in common with you except in relation to the specific people I can't tolerate .

I find it quite intriguing to journey through the opinions and ideologies of people who share different ideas on faith, and I'm sure there must be some instances where a stimulating debate can take place.

If I don't get banned I will endeavour to be less heavy handed with my words, but that's not saying I will ever share the faith in god and the bible that this forum was created to share.

But, there is as yet no real discussion happening even after my posing of a reasonable question (except for the notion that no actual architecture when into the building of that imposing church) It is apparent that this "forum" is and will always be a futile waste of good peoples words.

Yet you refuse to reasonably respond to my comment. Clearly you own intentions here are just to be inflammatory because we dare not agree with you in our own church forum.

Now why should anyone respect your opinion after that?

I've consider that a fair bit. It was the premise of my attack on the reality of calling this a forum in the first place because I could not see the effort other forum members were putting in to consider outside opinions.

I don't feel very inclined to use real information when I know the threat of retaliation as is evident in your first reply to me.

Perhaps your opinion on what we consider science and what not wasn't entirely accurate.

Perhaps you may have learned something from us: be careful how much information you leave behind when barging in somewhere and calling people names. It took 2 seconds BTW.

Note that we are a peaceful bunch, so I didn't even mention your bird like surname.

You have learned other things than we have. That is OK. But your anger got the better of you - something I thought scientists try to avoid?

We follow the Bible, and all of it. We do not respect people who follow just those bits they like. I would say this is a Boolean issue: either you believe all of it, or none of it. Wouldn't you agree?

Perhaps you are mad at the message of the Bible, and not so much with us.

We have long standing members here who are atheists. Obviously, we have to warn them that they will burn - see Bible - but as long as they are civil, we do not ban them.

We did not come to your place to call you names, you came to us. Think about it.

I happened to notice that your church is a rather large structure, standing at least a couple of stories tall with a imposing glass front.
This whole thread is about the fallibility of science, yet I presume you hold your services in a structure that took a evolution in the science of engineering to build. If you don't believe in science because of the bible yet hold you sermons and such in a building such as this, are you not hypocrites and if this is all true then won't you be damned for being a hypocrite

Trust me, there is no architectural engineering involved in Landover Baptist.
